Rm50 downsizing options (UK based) - RM4 or rehouse amp?

Building a very simple box is pretty easy IF you have good square/straight cuts on the plywood. Unfortunately a jigsaw isn't good enough. Here in the US, we can get the lumber yard to cut our wood for us at about $1 per cut though. Just make sure you do your measurements well and don't fall...

Rm50 downsizing options (UK based) - RM4 or rehouse amp?

You could do a very bare bones head box for a lot less money, no tolex, no corners, etc. Just paint it black and it will look decent in a utilitarian way. I've seen many racks made like that being used in professional situations.

Adding dual module support to single module amps

I've had a couple of requests for info about the RM20 amp that I modded to accept dual channel modules, so I thought I'd share all the info here on this thread. I don't intend to do any of these mods for folks myself, but feel free to use the info yourself or share it with a tech who can do the...

Dual Channel RM-20 head for sale, $400

I've had a couple of requests for info on the single to dual mod, so I'll post a thread about it in the DIY section.

It look like the input section was modded. Do you have any info on what was done? Any other mods?

Dual Channel RM-20 head for sale, $400

I'm looking to sell an RM-20 head that I just refurbished. This was the one that was for sale recently here in this forum that had been converted from a combo. After I got it, I made a small repair to the output stage, built a new cabinet with fresh tolex, and added a nice leather handle. I...

    10 new modules

I just got back from the amp show and had a chance to run through them all. All I can say is wow! Rob did a great job on these guys. The thing that really struck me is how different they all sounded from each other. These were not subtle shades, but really fundamental differences. I think...

    10 new modules

Also, if you have a way to demonstrate a foglifter at the Ampshow, I might be interested in picking one up for my MOD50.

    10 new modules

I'll be there at the Amp Show on Saturday. I cant wait to try out some in person! So I just built that modular bass amp for myself. Do you think any of the new mods might be good for cleanish to crunchy bass?

    .

If you are sensitive to the loading of the cathode follower on the fx send, you can try two things: 1. A treble bypass cap. You wouldn't want a full bypass, so play around with series resistor values along with cap values until you find a set of vales that properly rebalances the highs at your...

    New DIY modular bass amp

I'm approaching the finish of my DIY modular bass amp and I thought that some here might be interested in the project (if not here, then where else? ;) ) At first, I was just going to use an RM4 with a big solid state power amp, but I really wanted a couple of features that rig couldn't...

RM50 1x12 OpenBack Combo or RM50HD with Closed back cab?

I'm a big fan of closed back, but I'm a die hard heavy rock Marshall guy who switched over to the MOD50. I have half a dozen open back combos scattered around the house for noodling and recording, but they never cut it for me when playing in a band. My ideal cab is still my '77 Marshall 4x12...

    NAD: MOD50

That's my exact rig. I have half a dozen other modules, but those two spend 90% of their time sitting in my MOD50. I love the SL2 so much that I never really bothered to chase the after-market mod dragon. :D My '78 Marshall 2203 is getting dusty.

Almost forgot, the card edge connector is a Sullins EBM12DRAS.

    Pin-out for the edge connector?

I'm currently building a two module bass amp for Egnater/MTS modules, so I've recently been popping in here lately (just joined today). Your pin-out looks right to me, I'd just like to add: pins 3,4,5,6,E,F are the module's signal ground plane pins M,N are the modules heater ground for the...
