Is it ok to hot switch SYN2

I am not sure if it's correct or not, but there's a long Synergy module thread on The Gear Page. In that, people discuss some potential reliability issues. I've read that hot swapping is NOT recommended. It has something to do with blowing an FET that controls the Mute circuit. For me, I...

    A clean module that's LOUD?

I have three "clean" modules: Morgan AC, TDLX and BMAN. The Morgan can be nice and clean on that first channel, and even the second. But it struggles with volume if you dial it super clean. So it wouldn't fit the needs stated in this thread. The TDLX has no such struggle. I dial the...

Sounds great. Playing is awesome too.

    800 Module: Identical Channels?

Thank you both for the replies!

    800 Module: Identical Channels?

Channel switch? I have no idea what that means. The Plexi module has two identical channels. They may share an EQ. But they offer two sets of settings on the same tone. The BMAN module, on the other hand, appears to have two duplicate channels, but they do not sound the same. The red...

    800 Module: Identical Channels?

Does anyone know if the 800 module has identical channels? I'm pretty sure the Plexi has two that are the same, just independent volumes and gains. The Bassman and SLO (I think) have two different channels, even though they share EQ. How does the 800 fit in?

    SYN-2 Problems

I called them. They said it was likely the tube in the SYN-2. That made perfect sense. Sometimes I forget that all this Synergy stuff is still basically a tube amp. Sure enough, I changed the tube and it was all better.

    SYN-2 Problems

Just as I gave my Synergy stuff a play through last week before moving into a new rack, one of my SYN-2 started pooping out. When I switch from the first SYN-2 (master) to the second (slave), it intermittently sounds really fizzy, compressed and about half its normal volume. Seems to do it on...

    Synergy/MTS module cases (Burns)

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago. So much better than storing modules in the shipping box. The real good part, to me, is that they screw in, so they aren't going to fall out even if the case falls over. The foam on the top sort of makes the whole thing secure when closed too.

Anyone heard any news on anything new coming out???

I was under the impression that it was more of a warehouse fire, and the primary building was next door anyway. Was that incorrect?

    Hi!! Need some Advice.

So you'd be still using the same modules, but amplifying via the Mesa power amp as opposed to the SYN-30? I suspect no major difference. You are going from one quality tube power amp to another. From what I've read from a few different people over at the big TGP Synergy thread, that Mesa is...

SYN-50 Head vs SYN-5050 or other Poweramps?

Thanks for the replies. I'm not familiar with a few of those. The ENGL stuff is interesting. It seems to be similar feature and price-wise with the Fryette stuff (all tube, 2u sized, similar featues, etc.). Any idea how they compare?

SYN-50 Head vs SYN-5050 or other Poweramps?

I’ve been using my SYN-2s to add channels to my Mesa Mark V. But I want to change that. May even sell that amp. So I’m looking to go more for just Synergy only. Does anyone know any pros or cons of the SYN-50 head vs the SYN-5050 power amp? Also, how does that power amp compare to...

Synergy Plex vs Metro Plex vs Friedman BE Modules

I already have the Synergy Plexi module. I use it for the low to mid gain plexi tones. I like the ability to dial it in with the dual volumes (I and II) for each channel. I'm looking to add another Marshall-inspired Marshall for heavier, hot rodded Plexi type tones. I have really never...

Syn-1 out level with Mesa Mark V

I use two SYN-2s in my Mark V. So those 8 channels, plus the three in the Mesa. There can be a difference, based on how you have the channels set up. When you engage the Synergy module(s), the Mesa still "knows" what channel it is on. so it boils down to a few factors: 1) Each channel has...

    Bogner Modules: Ecstasy vs Uberschall

In simple terms, how would you compare the core tones of the two Bogner modules? I know they have those pre-boost switches, boost/cut switch and Schizo switch, but I'm talking about the inherent core tone. I've read that the Ecstasy amp's blue channel is based on a souped up Marshall JMP...

Plexi and JCM 800 Tones on the Ecstasy Module?

I already have the Plexi module that I like for low (blue channel) to medium-low (red channel) tones. Happy with that. Based on the Ecstasy module web page and owner's manual, it's supposed to be able to cover a range of classic Marshall type tones from the '60s to the '80s. In fact, the...

    Bogner Ecstasy Module Questions/Settings

There's nothing on the product page detailing the Schizo switch. But the owner's manual says this: "The Schizo switch offers 3 distinctive overdrive/distortion characteristics, which could be best described in the decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s."

    Bogner Ecstasy Module Questions/Settings

Help with Bogner Ecstasy Module. Fast forward to the end if you want to skip my excess verbiage! I've had this module for some time now. But I feel like I haven't really figured it out as well as I should. for context, I have a pair of SYN-2 and with the following: ODS, SLO, Plexi, Ecstasy...

    Bogner Ecstasy Pre-eq

Wow. I've had this module for a couple months and hadn't even noticed. I have struggled to dial it in to maximize not only how the two channels sound, but how they supplement my other modules. I wonder if this little quirk affected my dialing in without me knowing. I kept peeking at my notes...
