I am using two Lopo single 12" cabs w/ Weber California speakers. They are super clean. The Lopo's do lack a little bass though.

The best sounding 1x12 is a 2x12 with one speaker in it. Depending on the quality of the construction, it can give you big low end, but only weigh a little more than an OS 1x12.

That sounds interesting to try. The only thing about a 2X12 cab is I run stereo and two of those suckers would take up some room.

Do you cover up the empty speaker hole? Or does it act like a port?

I had a Bogner Cube V30 and a CL80.
Although it was probably the best sounding cab at home at low volume
it was completely blown away in a band mix by a Thiele/EV200.

My best sound so far was a mix of Thiele/EV200 and a M/B Recto 2x12 combination and a Laboga 3x12 (1xEV,2x V30).

Leave it open to act like a port. You'll love it.
