So what are your options on this mod. I love diezel tone. Just wondering if this is worth the price

Just about everything Anthony does is worth the price :)

Correct me if I'm wrong about this one...

I haven't owned the Benzin, but I don't believe its going to be as accurate as some of the other Salvation mods. I've heard that the power section of the VH4 colors the tone and while the MTS version is a copy of the preamp, it doesn't sound exactly like a VH4 because the power amp is quite different.

I did see a picture a 2 herbert modules on the Salvation facebook page that were made for the smashing pumpkins, and I heard Anthony was working on an Einstein channel 1 mod for someone here on the forum.

I can't tell you if the mods are good or not. I've never played the benzin nor have I played a Diezel.

There is a sound clip made of salvation benzin by user hyenik somewhere on the forum. Look it up, really nice!

I haven't owned the vh4 but yet a herbert and I have to say I agree with that commonly argued issue of its low end "oompf" (which I reckon comes from the power section) easily gets drowned in a band situation. I miss the herbie Ch 2 preamp though, also thinking of getting one or two benzins

I have the custom Einstein channel one module on order, and it is a bit delayed for the Smashing Pumpkins to get their mods, but thats OK.

I went for the Einstein mod for a few reasons. Mainly the Einstein doesn't have that massive low end so it should translate better to the MTS amps, and there are three mods to it, clean, crunch, and mega that are all going to be in one module. It should be pretty cool!!!

I tried a Benzin recently and didnt like it...It is a darker tone that what Im used to I guess...very hard to get any high/mid bite out of it with my other salvos in the rm100....the OD reminds me of the modern module....not to say it is bad,I just didnt care for it...the first Salvation I have owned/played that I didnt like though...pretty good track record considering Ive had alot of the high gainers since getting into mts about 2 years ago....

Thanks Alowerdeep for sharing our valuable opinion, always nice to hear a more balanced point of view. Did you try the Benzin in a band situation? Did it cut through?

I'm about to send a batch of eggies to Anthony for mostly high gain mods, would you say it there is any other salvo mod that could perhaps do the diezel modern gain territory better? Kraken, Chupa? [/quote]

Im not as familiar with the Diezel tone as I am alot of other amps, mainly becasue if their price...It just never interested me to pay thousands of dollars for an amp when there are plenty of options out there that sound just as good for alot less money....but Ive owned the Kranken twice, and only sold it becasue I have a real krankenstein I just couldnt sell...killer module that covers alot of ground thanks to the sweep control......You may want to check into the Stonerverb as well....super versatile and can get almost clean, vintage and extremely heavy, modern tones.....The Mashaldano is killer too....

LOVE my Benzin, guts through more than enough, especially with EL34s, my favorite high gainer, had a chance to compare the Benzin in the FX loop of a real VH4, and liked the Benzin just a hair better, a little less compressed and a tad tighter sounding.

Yeah,it is a tight module....I had to turn the resonance really low in order to use the bass on the module...I liked channel 3 best,4 had a ton of gain and just got too thick and tight on the bottom end for me,even with the bass down to nohing.....I can see it being cool for some stuff, just not somethign I like as much as the other modules I have owned or played....
