Did Randall stop using the heat sink?

My RM100 just has the grille on the back that matches the front. Not that it's a big deal...or is it?

A grill.. on the back?? Never heard of that one.. Is it a head or combo? The bar across the back is supposed to be somewhat of a heat sink. But never saw one with a grill.

My RM100SI has a full grill on the back as well, also a little fan ontop of chassis.

The bar on the back isn't a heatsink AFAIK, it's just a protection bar.

It isn't a big deal at all, it actually means your amp is a bit better protected. On the other hand you won't be able to switch tubes or anything without removing the plate, that might be a pain..

Not sure if it was meant as it or not, I assume it was but that aluminum back bar will not only protect the tubes but just like on a PC CPU the aluminum will dissipate heat real well. I had an RM100 without it and a fine member here had a spare and sent it to me. I am not saying it's a must have but hey what do you have to lose.
