I see salvation/gigmods modifying randall modules like crazy, but do these guys (or anyone else) modify the Egnater stuff?

Dave Friedman has some mods for Egnater Dual Channels...as do the Egnater boys themselves (contact Jeff Hilligan) :)

I'll check them out!

And I'm not just talking general mods, I'm talking like turning a dual channel Eggy module into a Mesa mark series..(Like Pete's Modules, but only with two channels ofcourse)

Last time I heard, Jeff Hilligan at Egnater tried doing that to a COD, and it didn't work.

The layout on the PCB is different than the other high gain dual channel Eggys, and the COD layout can't handle that amount of gain.

That being said, it's rumored that a dual-channel Mark-inspired Egnater module is in the works... can't wait till NAMM to see if it's true.

I got an EG5 modded with the Jose UG mod by Voodoo Amp. Trace did an incredible job on making it sound so sweet with huge warmth and nice mids. Just a killer module.

So from all the other posts in this thread, I see the options are:

Dave Friedman
Salvation
Jeff Hilligan (Egnater)
Voodoo

Anyone have anything more specific as far as features & options (apart from the Voodoo specifics already posted)? What about faceplates/knobs (I'm guessing probably not)?

I Forgot to ask: can anyone provide the contact info for:

Dave Friedman
Jeff Hilligan
Voodoo Amps

I've contacted the other modders already (either on this or other subjects) . . .Thanks!

Just got contacted by Rob (Jaded Faith) - we can now add him to this list as well. His only problem is that he currently doesn't have an Egnater amp to test the B channel after he mods it . . . based on what we've heard about his work that should rarely be an issue.

That will be an issue if he tweaks the mods by ear like most modders ..

Actually, the only difference between the channels is the gain is restricted on channel A (ie: the two channels share the EQ knobs and have their own gain and volume knobs). You can still tweak by ear and the B channel will be a juiced up version of A.

First , let me say I am flattered that our modular amps have been used as the platform for many modifications. I do have a request, though. When you do modify modules, it would be cool if some sort of sticker were placed on the bottom indicating what you did and when. What I fear is that there will become lots of modified modules floating around with no indicaiton that they are not stock. Someone may purchase a used module without knowing it has been modified. A sticker would help prevent that from happening and also could be used as advertising for you, the modifier. Of course, if the front panel is replaced, there is no issue.

Thanks
Bruce Egnater

How do I go about getting my dual-channel Egnater SL2 modded into an SL2X? Is that a factory mod? How does this mod differ from the mods done by JF or Friedman? I'm not asking what's "better" or "worse", just what's "different" between the different available options - feature-wise & sound-wise . . . Thanks!

I think there's one or 2 people who can do it over at Rigtalk. Jeff, who no longer works there, but he has since created a Scorch module so maybe he's around here (?) There was another player, but I think he sold off his Egnater stuff- was it Nick? IDK

The X was said to borrow some eq from the EG5 and impart it onto some others to make an aggressive hybrid- SL-X, EG34-X

In fact the Scorch may be X oriented? If you find some answers let us know
