I've decided 6550s just don't sound good....

I put KT88's and 6L6's in mine and it really sounds great...The 6550's made it really boomy,but the KT88's really seemsed to clean up the bottom end alot...I was suprised,I usually cannot tell alot of difference when I swap tubes....lol...

that's cool. I put new Winged Cs in my Quickrod, and threw the 2 Tung Sol EL34s in the RM100, sounds pretty cool for a lot of things. Still like my MR. Scary module best, but the Tweed is really cool this way!

I like the 6L6/KT88 combo...I swapped the 6550's for KT88's and it really cleaned up the bottom end and opened it up a lot...I was amazed,I uaually cannot tell the differnce in tube swaps...
