Does anyone have any suggestions for a module that would cover his tones? I understand that on his albume No Gravity he used Brunetti amps, but he also uses Laney amps. Neither of these are amps I've owned or are familiar with.

If anyone has been down this path and can offer insight I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Torpus

Oh man that guy totally smokes.. he sounds good on pedals and digital gear too. I would say for his tone it is the classic higher gain MArshall based amp with a tube screamer to tighten it up. I remember reading SD-1 or any generic TS type pedal he'll use on clinics with his Brunetti or Laney amps. On the cheap, a Mr. Scary backed off on the gain (will give you some compression for the leads) and tightened with a screamer type pedal.

Thanks Kapo. Yeah, he's an amazing player, so obviously much of his tone is in his skill as a player...none of which I probably possess...

Having said that, he seems to have a tone which feels high gain without sounding high gain (that may make absolutely no sense...) The closest I ever came to that type of sound in my world was when I owned and Engl Powerball. I used the higher gain channel, but I had my gain fairly low, channel volume and master volume more or less matched. This seemed to give it a lot of touch sensitivity, great response to the volume knob on the guitar, but without any "buzziness" associated with high gain. Only real problem I had was that the amp section of the Powerball seemed to also add some brittleness to the high end.

the only other amp I felt probably nailed this sound was the blue channel on a Bogner Ecstasy.

I'm working with Rob at JF on some modules now so I may have this tone back in my hands with all he'll do, but thought I'd at least ask if anyone had gotten there already.

Appreciate all the feedback from members in this forum. Since this is my second post it's obvious I don't post much, but I've been reading and learning a ton. I hope to be able to contribute more as I get further into the MTS world.
