Check it out! One on the left is mine, one with matching toggle switches and the stock red LED is JKD's and will go out to him in a day or two. Stock one covered in fingerprints is Axecellent's, awaiting it's turn under the soldering iron.

Oh, and the recto now has two LEDs - orange and red, pretty obvious what they mean. :)

Wicked! :D

Need to work out what I can get rid of to get my Recto modded

Super sweet! Are the knobs coming as part of the upgrade package? They look killer!

Pete, are you ready to do Recto's? Hope you are going to put Mesa knobs on them.

Great looking work!

Knobs look awesome, if I add them though it's going to be an additional cost option, as they are a little pricey for what they are.

And yeah, I do rectos too. The red/orange settings work great, and they can be modded into grails also... and with switchable bass mods.

Next..... Mesa Knobs on the Recto

Fender Knobs on the Blackface along with "some mod ;) )

Black Chickenheads on the Vox....ala vintage AC30

Hmm....where else could this go?

:D

Only bad thing about knobs is that some are really big for the module size - chickenheads come super close to each other, and make any type of switch mod a real pain, as where I usually put them will collide with the knobs!

Fender knobs are pretty ginormous also. I should have pics of several different faceplates I did for other modules (at least three more) some of which are going to be really cool looking in my opinion. I'm going to just make the faceplates available too, so people can change the look of their modules without modding them. I love my MTS gear, but the regular modules look generic. Oh, and the grail that JKD sent me to check out looks AWESOME in person!

Yeah..love the Grail...it already has Recto knobs, so I wouldn't put 'em on a modded Recto..unless I could get the other 'pointer style'. One day I found Mesa knobs all over eBay...can't find any recently.. heh..

Mr Scary is v. cool looking too :D

I don't think there's anything I don't like about either the Mr Scary or Grail* modules...I doubt I'd mod them..not really surprising considering the amount of time Lynch and Randall probably spent tweaking them.

* I would maybe change c3 for 0.001 but the jury is still out on it..had it dialled in killer last time I played it.

I'd leave the grail alone, it sounds great as is. It was funny, when I was voicing my recto, I ended up using a 500pf for the tightest setting, before I even knew a grail used that. BTW, I did the 150ohm mod that others have detailed on the board, and my recto, when set to the same as the grail (red, tightest bass) sounds dang close to the grail. I do prefer a little looser bass for solos, which is why I started doing switch mods, but the grail just sounds awesome.

was it ever determined if the recto could be modded to grail?

I think we pretty much identified the differences. I sent Pete (okstrat) my Grail to check it out....hopefully clips of Grail and 'Grail modded Recto' coming soon....
