Are there any sound clips of the diablo? Or is perusing you tube for pre 500 recto sufficient? And, what are all the switches for? Sorry, kinda hard to ID all of em from the pics.

Definitely interested...

I can chime in about the Diablo...the leftmost switch is Raw/Vintage/Modern, and does the same voicing change as on the real Rectifiers. The next switch over is the Attack switch, which softens up the attack. It's sort of comparable to Bold/Spongy on the real Rectifiers. Next is the channel switch, which is between orange and red, and finally there's a boost, the purpose of which is obvious.

The pre-500 Recto sound is fatter, bigger, and warmer than later Rectifiers, which evolved to have a more cutting sharpness. The pre-500 ones are not necessarily better, although many people hold that opinion. As far as I know I've never heard a pre-500 in person, but I have played briefly on a '90s two-channel version, and the Diablo captures what I remember about it. I ordered my Diablo with the channel and attack switches only. I kinda wish I had done the R/V/M switch instead of the attack switch, as I only really like it in the bold mode, but this is a monster module. I was playing my Edwards Les Paul Custom through it last night and it sounded like a wrecking ball.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. One of my friends has a pre-500 rectifier and I compared that with the diablo thru a Mesa 2/90. In high gain settings with the modern engaged on the 2/90 the diablo it nails it. Just talking about it makes me not want to sell it Lol.
To sum up the comparison I will break it down in percent:
High Gain, orange and red and V/M = 95-99 percent
Low and mid gain = about 85-90 percent
Whoop: you really should have gotten the R/V/M, you are really missing out on the flexibility. I am not to much a fan of the attack switch.
The boost switch is kinda tricky. It doesn't work like a regular boost, it actually make the tone fatter rather than trimming the low and adding a lot more gain. It makes for some really great low gain tones in R mode.

Just stopped by to say that I grabbed the Herbie Dual module, great sounding item by the way and the seller was superb to deal with :)
