Hi
I play in a thrash\death metal band, i have a randall rm100 with an ultra module but i can't obtain a great distorsion (the distorsion is great but i need more power  ), there is a module more evil than the ultra?

I don't think there is a module 'more evil' than the Ultra...but what are you looking for?

More presence in the mix (Ultra is quite scooped) ?

More chug? (Use a boost out front - TS9, SD-1 etc.)

From what I recall...a lot of thrash bands use modded Marshall tones...so an SL+ may be the way to go with a boost out front?

Can dipends from the guitar pick up? i have the emg hz...

You know I hated the HZs in a guitar I used to own but for teh style of music you are playing...they should work but I'm not that familiar with them.

I like EMG81/85 though.

I've found that if you run a parametric EQ in your loop, Ultra cleans up very well if you cut at about 130-140 Hz with about 1/2 octave bandwidth. It takes out the mud and allows you to run more midrange

Also, I've never been able to get my ultra to work very well with an overdrive. It fights my SD-1 with uncontrollable feedback.

I use an ISP decimator with mine.. Guitar -> SD1 -> ISP -> Amp .. an NS2 would work too

SD-1 is set with zero or very little drive..I'm just pushing the level (plus the natural midrange a tubscreamer type thingy adds)

...although honestly the Ultra is the only module that doesn't really need a boost gain / saturation wise.

Not a fan of the hz's either. If you can, definately try to score another set of pups bud. You will notice a big difference! I really like my 81's and 85's on the other hand. All depends on the axe really though.
Also, a +1 on the SL+ ! Fast triplet runs on the low e sound wicked awesome with the .001 cap on.

My decimator ProrackG was shipped today

I think that i'll change the hz pick ups, may be i'll buy the Emg 81\85

I would defiantly suggest the Ultra XL. It has lots of presence and gain, but still has great definition so you can hear the notes you are playing. A boost of some kind can help if you want to push it over the edge as well.

Were did you get your 1086? I was going to order one but Music123, Samash.com and musiciansfrien are all out of stock on the 1086
