Module tube replacement help

I am a new member that need some info on replacing tubes in modules. I was wondering should both tubes be the same make?. What are you guys loading your modules with?. I have a plexi, brown ,modern, xtc, tweed, blackface,and top boost. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Everything from EH,tung sol,JJ,shuguang,sovtek.tThey don't have to be the same make in V1 and V2.Some tubes sound better than others in different modules.

As long as the pinout is the same you can basically try what ever tickles you fanny. You could even try other types of dual triodes, but their gain shouldn't exceed that of the 12AX7/ ECC83
