In the first clip I did a Mr. Scary/SL+/KH-2 tone comparison with all dials at noon.

This second clip has the modules dialed in to where I think they sounded best live.

Interesting. The Scary definitely sounds the best of the three with all dials at noon. In the other clip, I thought the KH-2 and the SL+ were pretty similar, but the Scary was dialed in to have more of a scooped sound, so it's hard to compare it to the others.

I didn't intentionally try to dial the Mr. Scary in to sound scooped. It just sounded "right" there to my ears. In general I think it is "looser" sounding than the other two. I had to pull the bass back and the mids up on the SL+ like Julia suggested in my other post. The same with the KH-2 except the bass way back...I think around 9:00.

Which is why I think my brahma/Scary hybrid is just right. A little more focused in lower mids but tight and more cutting. I can dial back the gain to 11 and get AC DC tones that sound clear and articulate. The bass is also not overwhelming. I think the Density control becomes of more use here for fullness rather than adding bass.
