Well my first tube amp was a mesa and i never could get it to sound good to me ears. Even when my Randall sounds bad to me it still actually sounds good. The sl+ tone is more mine sound than the treatplate, all in the mids
Pretty much. on the LB Mr. Scary is my lead tone, SL+ is my rhythm tone, and a compressed post preamp KH1 is actually preferred tone.
On a Mesa amp all that sounds good is power chords. The rest sounds like a frakkin' ice pick. They have no warmth. It's basically the same thing I feel about the Peavey 5150s.
