Title says it all.

I mean, I can use it, but It sounds so shrill and bad.

With the Mids on 3, the treble on 3, and the bright switch off, it's still ear piercing. That's 3 by the way, not 3o'clock.

The module is the original silverstrip faceplate module if it helps.
Is there anyway of fixing this? It seems as if this module has too much of everything except volume. Too much treble, Too much bass, Too much mids, and the bright switch doesn't do a thing!

Pete, If you view this thread, I'd like your input! You'd probably know how to fix it.

But seriously guys, what can I do to get a usable clean tone?

Rm100.
Epiphone LP custom.
Shitty Behringer cab with Bugera speakers.
Not sure about the tubes.

on my ultra XL, I have the treble set at about 3 or 4 as well, very bright module, but it still sounds great.

if your cab is bright, that won't help. Perhaps you should dial it in more with your ears then eyes. Also try different tubes in there to see if that would help. I think Ruby 12ax7's are a bit darker,

Well I'm actually wondering whether there's a capacitor I could swap.
The module is bright as hell, but hearing other people's blackface clips it just makes me wonder, you know?

My blackface module seems to be very touch sensitive too. If you turn the treble down too much, it muffles into a jazz tone, but if you move the treble up 1mm, it becomes ear piercing. I just don't get it. :?

Exactly.

I'm hoping if I can send the module to Pete he'll have a quick fix for it.

I also have a problem with my blackface. With my Les Paul and the bright switch on is ok but with my Tylers, as soon as I go to any combination on the five way switch, the high strings distort and have this very metallic, hollow sound. Specially if you split the middle/neck single coils or go to parallel on them. It's also fine with EMG single coils. Weird!?

Any ideas or comments?
