Of course, the "modders" can and will continue. There is no legal, ethical or logical reason that I would want to interfere with the custom guys. That is really how most of us started out. We modified other peoples stuff and eventually came up with our own way of doing things. Why would I object to that? I'm flattered that people have found the modules to be so cool and easy for modifying. I've heard some of their mods and they are great. Of course, there would be an issue with someone actually copying and manufacturing new modules and selling them. That would be an infringement. Modifying old, current or future stuff is very cool and I'm glad there are people making money and keeping it alive during the "modular hiatus".

Very cool Bruce to know your stance on this .and very cool that you have taken the time to check some out and hear some of the stuff that is modded and out there

I'm very glad to hear that this is your take on the subject. Another thing that has made the mod process a little easier for all of us is that Randall was selling modules to the modders directly. This way we didn't have to find used donor modules and ship them around the world to be worked on. The modders just charge us their cost on the module, do the work and ship it to us. Would you support this as well? Again, thank you for keeping the modular series alive!

FYI, the Randall contract has ended. That is why they've discontinued the MTS line. It was a good 10 year run but things move on.

Wow come to think of it it has been. Too bad it took me 8 years after the fact to get into this great system. Well I can spend the next 8 hoarding amps, modules, & mods. I eventually need to upgrade to the M4 & dual modules. :D 8)

Bruce, if a head and combo are in the works for the new Egnater modular line, I sure hope you consider incorporating some of the cool features from your current amp line, such as tube mix and variable wattage (I'll even take the nice reverb!) Sadly, not all of us have occasion to use 100W (or even 50W) on a regular basis.
Love your amps!

I've got a B-Man and an EG-3/4 ordered, and they're never getting modded or sold.

I was going to order an SL2X, but I have an SL2 with the GNR mod done by Ian and Bruce said it was basically the same thing. That will probably be the only dual channel I don't molest. I sent my COD to Rob for the OD Special mod. Go ahead and crucify me, I've already heard it. I can't leave anything stock, I have issues.

I think it's going to be a fantastic decision...wait and see!

Oh Rob, I have no worries about that. It's the "purists" that gave me a little grief about modding a great, and supposedly somewhat rare, module. I'm just not satisfied with great, I go for mind blowing. :D

Oh hey don't get me wrong, I have all intentions of getting some dual and singles modded for me too (Rob / JF, I'd like to get talking to you about that in the fairly near future) but there are some things I'd just as soon leave alone. Being as I'm pretty new to MTS it'll just take a while to decide what I want to do with what modules.

Sorry, I wasn't commenting on you. Just a few guys on Rig Talk when I was buying up dual channels to be modified. One guy actually wouldn't sell me his modules after he found out my intentions were to mod them... SERIOUSLY.

Oh yeah I didn't figure you were, all good...as for someone not selling modules to be modded...some people are just super cool 8)
