I?ve got this usa-stuff! it really rocks - what a big thing !
anybody here who?s speaking german ? my english is pretty bad.

what I have to say about :
my randall rm100m works about 2 weeks as suddenly a fuse for the electric fuse-heating circuit failed. My Randall Dealer has changed it and now it works again. Only the Bias was undersized calibrated (from the factory i think)

With high gain and volume settings the amp has quiet loud noise (like rush of a water?) -- only in breaks when I?m not playing.
You know what I mean. How is it with your RM100 ?

that noise probably comes from the crappy stock EH tubes in the amp and modules
mine was pretty noisy too in the beginning(i even could hear russian a radio station on some settings...)
then i swapped them all for quality ECC83s from JJ
now it's quiet and i believe it sounds better too

btw mine also had a pretty low bias setting

i think we bought from the same dealer didn't we?

thanks for this advice. You think that the 2pcs of tubes in the modules are cheap quality ?
Also of the 1086 Modul ? Ok what?s about the warranty if I?ll gonna change into new tubes (example ECC83s JJ) ? Must there anything be modified ? The tubes on the modules are soldered on the print as far as I can remember !

That noise really sucks ! I also thought about to get an noise gate (boss ns2) inbetween preamp and amp ( seriell loop). What do you think about ?

About the dealer :
The official randall distributor for austria is Music Import GmbH ( Mr. Tschernig) in Rankweil.
I have bought my randall at Music-Center Schwaiger in V?cklabruck ( really nice guys)

i don't like the ElectroHarmonics tubes
other people do
i like the JJ tubes better
it will not void the warranty in any way
as long it's the same tube type (they are both Ecc83)

no chance your tubes are soldered
you just have to unplug themfrom the ceramic socket (are a bit strong but ok)
and plug the new ones into (just push hard)
take care you wont bow any of the other parts on the board

new tubes should solve your problem
if not try the common tube in the amp
(the small single one in the front)
if there's still noise
bring it back to the dealer

Tube Town is great! They also have thier own tubes - as you may know. I have one of them in my V1 in my Egnater ie4.

The JJ ECC83s only costs 5,80 Euro. I think this is price and quality is ok.

I owned some jj ECC83S tubes from tube-town and retubed the 3pcs in the rm100m. I was able to eleminate that crappy noise and I also think that it sounds better (...and gets more power & dynamic)
There is only a silent noise left, but I think this is normal for this amp !
Retubing the 1086 and the Ultra Lead doesn't make a big difference. I also tried this...

My dealer sends me a XTC-module(JJ-Tubes) for testing. It sounds murder. It's a real killer rythm sound. I think that I'm going to buy this one.
