I just bought an RM100kh. Got it practically new for $699, no modules. I hope it's good.

Can't wait to here your thoughts on it..

That is soo fricken hilarious. Sound's just like St. Anger

The *onstage* amps are props. Their real rigs are off to the side of the stage. Kirk's rig is the same as its been recently but he added 2 RM100KH heads. James' is the same too, but he switched from the strategy 400 to the 290 poweramps.

And deizel amp's.

I always misunderstood amps and sound.

Say James uses a triaxis and 2:90. How many 2:90's would he use for an arena?

I know nothing. It's my understanding that most of the stuff is just mic'd through PA is that right?

Just one. It's two TriAxis preamps into each side of the 2:90 (stereo power amp)

That's all you need to play an arena type situation? One 2:90? :?

I saw Dickie Betts play a huge festival show with a 2x12

The Wall of Sound seems to be more for show

Yeah, but that's not a change :)

James has 4 Triaxis in his rig and 2 Boogie 290 poweramps.

Here are 2 pix I took of james' rig last month in Tucson:

I know alot of times the huge stacks are for show... On the Kiss Farewell tour i was lucky enough to get in a good vantage point to be able to see that most of Kiss's "stacks" were empty cabs, fronts, sides but no backs, they had something in them that looked like speakers from the front but from the back you could tell....

But on the other hand, Tony Iommi used about 6 stacks actually working on stage during the Black Sabbath tours on Ozz Fest, he said he didn't like the sound of his guitars through the monitors, he wanted to hear and feel them on stage.

Talking to some reps it seems like the Mic eliminators are becoming very popular, I know the last time i saw King's X Ty was using them and it was one of the best tones I have heard from him live

What's a mic eliminator?

Can someone explain to me this? I always thought you needed 18 stacks to play an arena?

Your telling me otherwise? I've been fooled like the rest of the idiots?

:D
