Reverb problem RM50, your thoughts pls

I recently got an RM50 in like new condition. Lately I've had an odd occurrence.

I will have the reverb plugged into the loop and Effects knob on "0" or "1" and "all of a sudden" the reverb will kick in as if the effects knob was turned all the way to the right.

Anybody else had this? Thoughts on cause and fix?

I got it used and the reverb was not plugged in. Seller indicated he didn't use the reverb.

Don't know if this would be of any help at all but if it sat without anything plugged in the loop, the sockets could be a bit dirty. Try spraying the plug ends with some contact cleaner and pushing them in and out of the sockets a few times to clean them.

Also, could be just a dirty pot that needs some spraying out as well.

Reverb goes in the parallel loop. Sounds like a dirty or broken effects level pot on the front.
