Thought I'd share what you can do with stock modules... Forgot I had this- Actually have a few more tracks that I'll upload later from this old project band I was in called Stone Cold Revelation. All guitars are me, bass Jon Purpura (WWIII/Mandy Lion) Dave DuCey from Warrior sat in for the drum tracks. This particular track was recorded by Rick Plester at this California studio (He's produced Scorpions/George Lynch among others) using his personal RM100 (EL34's) and a stock Ultra (Ultra XL for the lead tones throughout and solo at 1:40) No vocals on this one...One of the reasons we never finished the album was because we booted the frontman before we finished.... :)

And to consolidate the songs...Here's the rest of the tracks in one post...

Here's the same song...with vocals added. After we booted our singer, we sent it up to Jeff Martin (Racer X/Badlands) and let him put some ideas over it. I think he was up in Reno at the time. Anyway, interesting to hear his take and how changes to overall feel.

And one more track from that project (no vox) This is basically the same setup. Rick's RM100 (EL34's) Randall XL cab- with stock Randall Clean module and Ultra Modules.

And two more...One original and one very famous Maiden cover

All using RM100 with Ultra/Ultra XL stock modules.

Solo at 1:02 was Ultra XL on this one...all other tones were stock Ultra

pretty nice tone, i may have to really work my ultra in before i decide to send it off for modding

The Ultra is a nice stocker...Cuts very well- I like the feel of it. If anything, get a base mod just to get some clarity and maybe a mid shift option but I still use mine stock.

With all the full-blown custom mods available these days, it's easy to overlook how good some of the stockers are, especially after a few tweaks. My JF Ultra XL+ is one of the best metal modules I've played, with a totally unique voice.

Cool music, too. I may have to go put on some "Street Lethal" or "Live: Extreme Volume" now.

Thx Rising Farce...yeah I love the early Racer X stuff myself.

Moved them all into one post...I've got two more I'll add as well...

I had to sell this baby last year.... :( The BEST guitar ever. This to me is Jackson's version of a Les Paul-

Great riffs! I always have good things to say about many stockers. Modded is great but sometimes you dont really need to touch a thing. haha

yeah, I am still kicking myself over selling that one. Its been up and down all year- Sold some **** good mods and guitars. Right now, Im sitting on my Charvel Pro Mods and a few essential mods. Just the basics- no fluff. The SLATQH's are hard to find and are definitely custom shop quality guitars. Wouldnt hesitate to grab another if I could find the right deal.
