RM4 Differences? Old vs New

I just recieved a block letter RM4 I bought from a member on here. Works great, but I'm not hearing the fan come on.

Is this the older version that I have? Did the older ones not come with fans? I heard the older ones had a slight "lag" in switching channels, but I haven't noticed that at all.

Any help as always is MUCH appreciated

The new versions have a granulated powdercoat, while the older ones are simply smooth

Though the fan on my new version is much louder

I noticed that the older one does have a shinier finish. It sounds wonderful, I'm just concerned about the fan not working.

Maybe the new ones are just louder. I'll have to pop it open when I get home
