last I knew Salvation had moved some of his work to the US..so I think his turn around times have improved...
ask him.

This isn't strictly true.
All work on your module is done by Anthony, but he has found some better ways to deal with shipping and all that stuff.

That said there were some problems with the customs office recently, they'd take either a day ... or 5 weeks to process something. :?
It seems better now though, perhaps it was due to changing customs laws in the Czech R.

When it comes down to it: we love to do it, but we need food to eat. ;) So it reflects the amount of love and work that goes into a mod and module.

Sounds like how it is with my own company - repairing, modding and making guitars.

Yep, some would say your prices are "high" too .. but man those guitars are beautiful!! I bet a lot of work goes into making them that way. :D

Didn't realize that describing one's negative experiences here constituted bashing. I'd like to think that those sitting on the fence and wondering who to buy from would find posts that are both negative and positive to be helpful in their decision making process. I know that when I go on a site like Amazon and am reading reviews for a product, I go right for the negative ones to see worst-case scenario. But maybe that sort of thing is frowned upon here.
I don't necessarily agree with that new view of "what's allowed". Negative views are just part of a discussion and provide a different experience as you say. It would be nice to allow the other party to comment though .. which I have done now, so it's all good. ;) I hope you might still try some Salvation Mods in the future.

People are a bit protective of this forum as it is (was..) generally a very cosy and warm place .. (one of very little on the web), so reactions to negativity can be a bit agressive.. (and overshoot their purpose completely as you see).

Sanskara don't take this the wrong way, but your the new kid on the block, and Anthony/Salvation mods has been around awhile & done many many good deals. Your post also seemed to be sort of off topic. The original question was why are Salvation mods more expensive. So your post came across as trying to stir something up.

I have never dealt with Salvation, but I feel confident saying, Anthony is not a "bad appple". This is his business/livelyhood, not a guy trolling the internet trying to scam a few bucks & then bolt.

Back to the topic, "Salvation Cost"
Because they are simply the finest you can buy. The biggest difference added to the cost is shipping both ways to Czech Republic. (Which can be reduced by buying donor modules he has in stock) The other part is that the mods are heavily loaded with useful features/switching options and the tones are fantastic right out of the package. Put a premium tube in V1 and WOW...

@Sanskara: I was skeptical of Salvation Mods at first because of the usual reasons such as delivery time, customs, overall cost, and sheer distance for the mod to travel to get to me. Anthony has been very good to me. I've only purchased one Salvation Mod directly from him, but the experience was great. The longest time it ever took for him to get back to me on an e-mail was 2 days. That is more than reasonable considering how successful his operation is. I got information, price list, and was treated like a valuable customer. It was top notch customer service all the way. Try getting anything out of Randall/US Musicorp. Now that is a joke. You are being a little unreasonable and judging things prematurely. Anthony@Salvation Mods is the finest modder we have in MTS. My skepticism faded away when I got my Salvado Deluxe and loaded it into an RM100 w/ 4 TAD 6l6GC-STR. Total game changer. NO ****....When you come into the MTS forum talking smack about Anthony, you are talking about our friend. I don't like it when people try to mess with my friends. Especially when it is about tarnishing his good reputation. I'll stick up for Anthony any day. He is a class act and everyone here knows it. Be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

I just got my first Salvation Mod, a Mamba...and it was worth EVERY DIME. Simply amazing, I can't wait to get some more.

The Hi-watt is what peaks my interest.... I agree that the cost does seem high when compared to other modders but in cases where he is providing something no other modder is providing yet...... the nuno module for example. that could be a total keeper and also has me intrigued.

I am doing my best to answer pretty much all emails I receive.
If I did not answered some your emails, then accept my apology.
I shouldn?t happen anymore. Sorry.

Every day I receive a lot of emails, and I am doing by best to answer them all. If I ever do not answer some your email, I think it is better to say (write) to ME.

Thanks to all other guys for your support, It is really nice to read!

Agree 100%!

I think it is an unfair question to ask without trying one out or hearing it to compare to other modules....That's like asking why a Gibson costs more than another LP shaped guitar..or a Soldano costs more than a Splawn...If you honestly played both side by side and couldnt tell the difference then you might be able to raise that question, which you obviously havent......aside from that..... no one can really answer that question for you becaue tone is so subjective...There are just as many die hard fans of the JF and SG stuff as their are the salvation stuff on here for various reasons....If you are looking for honest feedback or objective opinions I would think you should figure out a better way to ask questions....such a question with no apparent thought or experince behind it will only elicit hostile responses anywhere, especially here, considering this is such a small community of enthusiasts....and most of us feel like we know the modders on here personally thorugh posts, emails, and transactions....
