I was just doing some tube experimentation last night and I was very pleased with the JJ in V1 & EH in V2 combo. I also tried a few other combinations and found EH in V1 & V2 revealed a slightly more extreme saturation that really shook the room.

I will say after many weeks with this mod-still amazing...With the Salvation MDA board- even more amazing! I thought this mod was 3D before the new board...It's a complete game changing combo for high gain fans...It really is.

This mod is nothing short of awesome...

I use this mod in conjunction with an RM100 with Mercury Magnetics upgrades as well as a few cap upgrades and options...I also use a Stigtronics Tone Vitamin boost and an Aphex 104 C2 exciter (very mild application but very cool with MDA board) in the loop before my ISP GRack...I play this thru a 412 with V30s and I doubt I could be presented with a better option to my ear...My tastes will likely change but this pairing is gold...Serious ****...

Edited to add: Tubes in Mod are: Gold Lion ECC83 in V1 and TungSol ECC803 Gold Pin in V2...

Amp is running Gold Lion KT77s and EH6CA7 power tubes...

Preamp tubes in amp are:
Input: Gold Lion ECC83S
PI: Jan GE 5751
Loop Buffer: JJECC803 HG (I also jumper this)

I'm really intrigued by the new Salvation boards. What are the most immediate differences you notice in overall tone?

I'm running my RM 100 with EH KT88's & JJ 6L6's.

My input is JJ ECC83 gold pin, PI is a Jan Phillips 5751.

Like Matt, I also like stuff with tubes 8)

Salvation has one in development already (has been for awhile)...Shouldn't be too long as I understand it...

The difference is a big punch in clarity and bite...The beauty is that with the Salvo MDA board, you can go back to stock at any time by pushing the Density pot back in (push/pull)...So you can activate the MDA or leave it as you did before...Major upgrade worth every penny!
