Pretty amazing, isn't it! That mod should help cure a lot of GAS!

Rossness, you usually do good detailed reviews of these mods and I know you are picky when it comes to what pleases your ear. You were after brown tone a while back.. did this cure it? Let's hear your thoughts.

The bully has a standard EQ, and 3 switches: 1) normal/ Bright, 2) Gain (Flight/ Fight), 3) Saturation (Push/ Shove). I find myself playing in Bright/ Shove/ Push most often. I don't need a boost with this module.

The module has insane levels of gain. Shredding is effortless. While I can get smooth sounds, the module is doing things my speakers almost can't handle. Ever pump too much gain through a Vox AC30? The speakers can barley cope, but just before the Vox explodes, magic happens- Well, that's what's going on with the bully. The RM100 and speakers almost can't deal with the amount of gain this thing puts out. But somehow, on the edge of death, I can get this tone that's just sublime. When It's not sublime, its a little buzzy/ fuzzy (but not like a fuzz box kind of fuzz). It does the old marshall thing very well. Its not hi-fi in the least, but it really feels like an old cranked plexi, which is something I haven't been able to find in the MTS world until now.

This module is good for Van Halen, Dokken/ GL, Danger Danger, Kiss, BLS. It can also do modern metal surprisingly well.

By no means is this a do-it-all Marshall module. Its more of a 1 trick pony with a few options. I haven't really tried it for classic rock tones yet, but I use a Voodoo Plexi for that stuff. As for how it compares with other modules... The Camerock has less gain and is more Hi-fi sounding. The JF QMGT is smoother, darker easier to control. The SG has stupid gain levels and is out of control, while being just in control. Its bright, but not harsh. It really pushes speakers hard.

Again, I've only played it for a few days. I'll be able to give a more detailed review in due time, but these are my initial thoughts.

Ross, congrats on the module, hope you really enjoy it. As you know we are waiting for the vids, samples and so on, in Ross's style...

Well, I want to ask here / I know the question is somehow incorrect.../, but how does compares the Bully to MK22, i mean gain-ish and ....Marshall-type, what's the differ between. Thanks.

Having never played a MK22, I can't comment on it. Ask Scott.

The MK22 really doesn't lack gain, but where the MK22 stops The Bully takes over. The Bully has an INSANE amount of gain, but still stays Hot-Rod Marshall. The difference is the MK22 is a great take on a stock Marshall, The Bully is a Super-Hot-Rodded Marshall tone you would have found from Van Halen to Hair Metal.

I often put the MK22 dualie and The Bully dualie in a MOD50 and right there is four channels of Marshall that really can't be beat.

I have heard so many good things about the MK22. Is it possible to still get one.

I haven't talked to Scott for a while now. I'm not sure if he's open for business ATM. I know he wanted to get his mod offerings sorted out prior to his reopening.

From what I understand, Scott will no longer be building his existing designs as such.

I have to completely disagree with this statement.

With the module in Flight/Push mode, the module cleans up nicely, especially with the gain knob at 12 O'clock. I've recorded several tracks with a P90 equipped guitar with this module that are nothing less than super sweet sounding.

Every guitar sounds and reacts differently with this module and IMO, it nails the sound of a great modified Marshall that doesn't change the actual tone of the Marshall (unlike some mod's done to JMP's in the late 70's and early 80's).

While it has "gain for days", using the lower gain modes put it smack dab in the middle of the best sounding stock two input JMP's from 1977.

Great tune, Mike....as always. :D

Thanks, Dude!

The module is really cool (although mine has been modified to include a JTM/JMP voicing switch).

No worries! :D

Have you had time since your initial post to check out all the various modes and gain settings?

It can even do the AC/DC thing quite well, IMO.
