So........
Just a quick note to find out if a person can utilize BOTH effects loops (2 different processors, set as needed for each loop type), simultaneously on an RM100 head?

Thanx,
James

You want to put chorus, delay and reverb in the parallel loop - make sure the effects have a "kill dry" setting then use the effects control on the amp to blend the wet/dry.

Use things like EQ, boost, etc (non-time based) in the serial loop. You don't want any "kill dry" type settings on in this loop.

Thank you for the input.
What I was hoping to get feedback on though was not "how to use the loops", but whether other users were having good luck using BOTH loops simultaneously, (within the boundaries each loop is intented for, of course).
More about whether the RM100 heads had any physical problems/limitations running both loops together as opposed to either/or.
I know the easiest way to find out is to just "try it and see", but I was hoping to avoid re-wiring anything without finding out first if the amp can even handle the operation of such.
Any feedback would be highly appreciated....

James

Sorry guys,

I should've posted my findings here because this really is a great tool that Randall does not clarify in the manual, (maybe a newer manual does?) :?

The manual I have DOES speak of each loop in detail and does mention each loop being "independent". However, I think a single line mention in any new manuals going forward that you can "use both simultaneously" would be helpful.
I guess it's kind of a "duh" thing since it does specify independence between the two, but even seasoned gear heads like myself sometimes like to have it spelled out by the manufacturer: "these two loops can be used at the same time" (within the parameters explained for each loop in the manual).

I was able to re-wire my rack and try running some simultaneous combinations, the tests were great and I'll be changing my Rig permanently based off my experiments. Had to order some more gear of course, to make it such.....but once it shows up, I'll make the switch for the long haul.

I LOVE the MTS heads....I've had a few glitches with them since switching from Engl heads last year, but the overall the flexibility with the modules, tubes, MIDI, and loops is outstanding 8)

Watch how Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour uses his in this video off Randall's Youtube page.

made me blush when he referred to me as the "fine folks at Randall."

the best way to run these amps is a noise gate in the serial loop, with the effect processor in the parallel. a touch of chorus and delay goes a long way in making these increible amps...THAT much more incredible.
