It didn't come with a power cord

I actually bought it several months ago from a forumite here, but he didn't want to ship it. Luckily, my sister lives in California and picked it up for me, but it just took awhile to ship (She's AWESOME for doing it by the way)

So then I say "Ah well" and plug into my Shiva. Well I'll be damned if not EVERY one of my cables has a short in them. I had been meaning to fix them for awhile since there old, but never got around to it. Guess it bit me in the *** this time :)

I'm dying to hook it up to my RM4! Does anybody know what replacement cable I can get at a local electronics store?

I'm beginning to think that the modular gods are upset with me!

Awesome, thanks for the info. Turns out my father has an extra one. Gonna snag it from him today and plug it in.

WAHOO!

Indeed! Gotta free one from my pops, and the RT2 fired right up!....

Then I noticed a burning type smell, and one of the LED's is lit saying that the first tube on the second channel has failed :( ARGH! I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another.

I REALLY hope it's nothing big. The amp itself wasn't in use for awhile, and collected some dust. I'm going to try a retube and see if that takes care of it. Luckily, I have some EL34's on hand.

Turn the bias way down to the bottom before you take her off standby....if you're lucky you just blew a tube and/or a fuse...

Thanks for the tip JKD. I'll try to get some fuses and replace the tubes tomorrow. I'm thinking of waiting until I get another set of tubes so I can replace ALL the tubes at one time. Probably going to put EL34's, and KT88's in there.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to go ahead and clean the entire unit. The tubes are REALLY dusty.

An update on this...

I cleaned out the unit, took the tubes out, inspected them, popped them back in, inspected the fuses, and although the fuses LOOKED good, one of them ended up being bad. Replaced it, and now the RT2/50 is running GREAT! Love the sound of this unit!

I'm also thinking the "burning smell" of the unit might have just been dust build up. I talked to the previous owner about the problems, and he said that it had been sitting for about 2 years.

Can't tell ya'll how happy this setup has made me. Now I think I'm gonna get me some Tung Sol 6550's, and do a tube swap with the EL34B's that I have for the other channel
