Is there any kind of doo-dad that can be plugged into the speaker out jack on a head/combo to use for direct recording? In other words, swap the speaker for the doo-dad.

I work nights so I'm up at the wee hours and would like to be able to record with out getting the neighbors all upset.

You'd have to research this, but before I got my RM100 I tried another amp and a THD Hotplate.

I didn't care for the amp or Hotplate, so I returned them both. But the Hotplate had a setting for "Dummy Load" that could be used to work on your amp or I thought it also said you could set it on "Dummy Load" between your head and cab and then run a direct line into whatever recording device you have from your head for silent recording.

May want to check that out.

They make a few...and people dispute which one is best...but I hear the palmer name quite a bit. I have never used one. I have an ADA microcab..and it accepts the pre out of my RM4 very nicely..I take the out from that and go into the recording gear. I dont even hook up any power amp. Sounds quite good,I think. But these things have a lot to do with taste.
If you hear a Plamer..feel free to share your opinions with me..no one around here (Austin) has one to hear.
Sometimes i think I live in the sticks.

My setup is identical to yours. Ill never give up the Microcab. (I shouldnt have sold the MP1 3TM)

i've heard good things about hotplates and the dummy mode, haven't tried it out on an rm-100 yet though...might do the trick
