Hey guys, been a while since i've been on here, i've been carried away with modding quite a lot of gear and have obsessively purchased many items!

This will be the first of many to come of real gear vs mts gear face-offs.


In stage I, i will have these to face-off, all mic'd exactly the same, same cab/speaker, guitars etc.



Amp1: Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster (voodoo amps platinum mods)

Amp2: Mesa Rectifier Recording Preamp (self modded "Bare-Metal-Mods" with the help of someone who will probably know who they are!!!!)

Amp3: Randall MTS Recto Module (self modded "Bare-Metal-Mods")



I will repost a new thread for the completed shootout.

Any requests/questions i'm happy to take onboard.



I recently went nuts on buying a lot of gear to really put MTS material to it's extreme test, I can happily say I can directly compare alot of stock and modded modules to the real thing, upon also clarifying if i had modded a module soundwise to be correct or not.

However, I do not mod MTS modules for money, there are plenty of guys out there already doing such a great job, which in my belief is the best thing that could've ever happened to MTS, and i'm sure will only continue to thrive!

I welcome and questions/thoughts/comments!

I used to have a killer sounding marshall 2555SL "slash" head
nothing could touch it for "mean raw marshall tones"


I now have a Voodoo Recto module (which btw I'm never selling)
and I don't miss the 2555SL even 1 tiny bit


its every bit as mean sounding as the 2555SL and is more tonally
diverse not to mention its has a buttload more gain as well :shock:

And peavey 5150 original block letter, a bugera 6262 (which I heavily modified the clean channel to fender twin specs and installed a choke)

And finally ENGL Ritchie Blackmore

I also want to compare some modules to my Roland jc120
