So I'm new here and thought I'd show what I got. Palomino RM100. pair of el34 tubes. Stock blackface module, Friedman modded plexi module, and JF modded recto treadplate module. So, how'd I do?

Very nice. I had Dave F Plexi that looked alot like that one. It was a Brown Eye. Sounded sweet! I don't know what kind of tunes you play but if you haven't boosted that thing yet, I suggest you give it a try. :shock:

I actually prefer to boost the plexi module rather than use the recto. Guess I'm more of a mid tone guy

That recto is probably great for low tunings though...I did, however, enjoy the DF Brown Eye Plexi- agreed- great tones boosted

My band does play in drop c tuning. Kinda like a cross between breaking Benjamin and alter bridge. So I do use the recto sometimes but I'm trying to find a sound that gives me good low end with good mids that all cut thru the mix. I'm starting to see I can only have one or the other, kinda sux unless you guys have a suggestion.

The Treadplate is the mesa sound right, so you have the Mesa Wall. can`t cut with that
I have a JF modded Treaplate too and use that for my heavy rhythm sound, then I use my SL= for my leads cuts real nice, but i`m on of those people who like mid gain leads to scream through rather then using insane distortion on my leads.

By the way you did just find...you`ll enjoy what you have there

That's a good start to the collection!

Suggestion for the Recto might be to run the mids higher than you think you might need them and roll the gain back a bit. Both my Recto and Erect can kill but I have to dial with my ears and not my eyes sometimes.

Spend some time with it and enjoy it, you have a great start.

I was told since I like the more Marshall esque tone I should go with a high gain modded sl+ module. Thought I may look into that

I bought my first RM50 combo last year loaded with two modules and since then I have bought another RM50 combo, traded it for a RM100M head, and bought a unique RM100KH.

I have since paired it down to one RM50 and one RM100 but have 7 modules in my possession now after buying/selling/trading many others. I am not even close to being done.

I think I might be getting over it finally. Its been a year and I believe ive gone threw...ummm... 9 modules. Paired it down to the KH-1 and UltraXL which is slightly modded. Certainly the addition of a Boss SD-1 pedal helped dramatically for getting the gain just right. This forum has been great for honest opinions and overall good people that are respectful.

It's great over Here other forums have pretty rude and disrespectful ppl I guess. I do like my Randall but I have been really gasing for a splawn nitro or vht. Maybe I can cure that by acquiring one of those amps or finding some way to keep the Randall
