Big daddy, you have a couple good points. I've played a Cobra and found it very dry and honest, not super saturated.
Also, my Angel e crushes the normal Angel.
I had the balls switch more subtle to use all the time without being too woofy.
It' huge AND tight.

I'm really curious about your thoughts of how your Angel E compares to your Engl SE670? Ever tried it through the SE670's power section?

Yes I have and it sounds almost identical to the Engl.
That says two thing to me.
1. Props to Salvation for nailing it(I don't think he or other modders always nail it that close)
2. The power section makes a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference in your tone because the Randall doesn't sound even close (though after getting a Mercury ouput transformer, it IS better now....not the same as Engl, but good in it's own way)

Matt got off his Mamba???

WOW... I hope grbassist's keep us informed of how its behaving :p

I'm gonna miss Matt's grumpy Mamba posts

Let us know what you think grbassist, I"m interested to know if it suits your needs

Good Luck!

Enjoy

I'll make a video like the last one with Angel e, Mamba SE and Scorch.
Right now I have the scorch sounding as good or better than anything.
It did need some external eq though, but I'm using a little for every mod.

The Ultra XL is killer too, but I think it may live in my RM50

This should prove interesting. I loved the Scorch for rhythm purposes but found it far too dark and "closed" sounding for leads.

Guys! PLEASE...shhhhh...Please don't let Mamba know what's going on!

As it is, I tricked him into the shipping box by saying there was a Treadplate in there calling him a puss...

I then triple taped the box shut and ran...

When I regained conciousness after the beating he gave me (I knew I should have quad taped it) he told me to make him a turkey pot pie and shut up...

The next day I told him Anthony just created a Mamba SE+ with a low gain function...Well, that did it, he boxed himself up and was ready to go...

grbassist should beware that the Mamba is expecting a Czech accent with some broken English and it would be best to begin practicing now so that you are convincing when he gets there. I packed a few mice for a snack but he'll be cranky and hungry when he arrives- best to have some soothing Killswitch Engage playing along with assorted cheeses and meats. I suggest wearing kevlar gloves until he gets to know you but NEVER trust him. You should also NEVER put him next to anything clean or mid gain-based. He eats tubes from the weaker mods and will often point and laugh at them just to get a rise.

Yes, he sounds great, looks cool, and has all the features one would want in a mod. But he is mean-spirited and can hold a grudge. Be careful!

Funny ****!

What did I get myself into?!?

Hope I don't git bit!!!!!

Matt

I think we have a problem

Your, now former, Mamba has been texting mine and the jig is up! I caught my Mamba trying to get a cab to the Postal Processing Center in an attempt to intercept your Mamba and free him. When I checked the history on my laptop I found he was googling Cheap Tickets to San Diego and driving directions to a certain Downriver community here in Detroit. It looks like he was using Facetime on my iPhone to enlist other SEs across the country. I was able to subdue him with a couple of stray cats from the neighborhood, a bag of Tropical Skittles, 3 Marlboro Lights and several shots of Jack Daniels Singlebarrel, but he said its not over and that you will pay for your disrespect!

Normally, my Wrecked-O keeps him calm, but Shawn's Wrecked-O has been visiting and they were both acting like teenagers trying to impress my sexy new RVerb.

I used Lock Tight, once I got him to reluctantly return to my RM100, but I'm concerned. With the distrations my new modules are causing, I'm afraid he may find another opportunity for escape or worse yet, vengence! You and grbassist better keep your eyes open. I will do what I can to diffuse the situation on my end, but I can't promise that the other 8 SE's aren't already involved and planning some sort of coup.

I will keep you informed

Godspeed fellow travelers!

H, OUT

I'm not worried about the SE acting up. My JF Ultra Lead is standing guard at the door now. The rest of the boys including the wrektos are all afraid they might just get thumped real hard if they get out of line. I am however worried that your wierdo neighbor might come over to borrow your phone and leave it to close to the Mamba. Maybe your neighbor needs to go by by?

Just got the Mamba SE.

Fig...I hope you're not dissapointed with the Custom 3++ 'cause I feel like I stole this Mamba from you.
The Custom was really good and may be just what you wanted, but this Mamba is THE BEST module I've heard and I've had just about everyone of the "best" high gainers as reviewed by this forum.

I can't believe you got rid of it.
Your Recto mod must be killer.

Every voicing switch is usable to get different killer tones, especially the diff switch. That's actually one of my beefs with a lot of these custom modules. Even on mods I really like, some of the switches are too exaggerated and some settings just plain sound bad. Not this one. They are all good, subtle yet distinct.
I can get more usable tones from this than any other I've heard.
Punishing aggression that's not too harsh or thin.
It can also be tamed down a bit to get a really nice classic crunch.
It works well witn my Angel E too.
I think I will use the angel for lead. It's alittle smoother and less biting.

Funny that it took me this long to find the best mod for "my" tone.
I've been looking for 4 years!

Don't worry, The mamba won't be escaping my rig for revenge.
I'll hold it in with locktite!

So then you like it?

No C++ yet, probably Monday...

I let a Mamba SE go around Xmas last year.....I'm still hoping it will come back.....killer mod.

Sense I got my Mamba SE I haven't seen as many small animals around. I didn't like that yappy little dog next door anyway!
