Wanting a different power amp-

hey all, when i decided to go with the RM 4, i bought a Mesa fifty/fifty power amp, it's pleanty powerful enough but, i am not really happy with the tone. The biggest thing for me its the lack of presence, i am a big fan of a good sizzling presence in fact thats why i bought the amp because i like the hair and sizzle of the dual rec, its tin ONLY thing i like about the dual rec. Any one have any recommendations of a tube power amp? I was looking at the Randall but i am turned off that the switching mode can't run into one cab right? I love the switching concept and the density control

People regularly use the switching mode with one cab....if by switching you mean, use one pair of tubes for one module and another pair of tubes for another....it's one of the key design features.

I do not know if you can do one cab with two inputs though.

The RT2/50 certainly has sizzle going too..

Have you considered going solid state? I find that the perfect hardcore tone is a tube preamp going into a solid state power amp, at least for me. And you certainly get "sizzle" with a solid state head, well, not so much sizzle, but clarity. i had a Carvin fet 1000 watt solid state amp an a ADA microtube 200 with 12xa7 tubes.The Cavin was sterile sounding even with my cavin quad X preamp (has a total of 9 12xa7's)or my mp1.the ADA microtube was a big difference,(i thought...THEN!!!!!)I ended up getting the Randall RT2/50 and WOW what a difference. i luv being able to switch tube selection,the raw power and warmth. it has presence and density knobs for each channel,accepts just about any tubes and mine is stamped Egnater inside on all the boards.i only run my carvin quad x through it now,sold the ada mp1.i used to run the quad through the return of my mesa mkIII for a power amp.I cant wait for my Egnater M4 to arrive,I have about 90 days if there timing is true for my order. By the way i bought a second one because i like it so much. Oh and i sold the Carvin an ADA amps
