The Wizard Modern Classic was a huge chunk of that tone so I was wondering what module might work best to try and come close to it. OR maybe what module as a base for some mods to get closer?

Isn't Randall coming out with modules to sound like these guys? Those should sound real good

They're Hammett modules but supposedly based on older and newer metallica tones but I kinda doubt it's gonna be like Hetfield's tone.

You guys won?t be disappointed. We?ve had a few guys that are outside of Randall play the modules too and they were really digging them. These are going to be just like the 1086 and the Lynch modules it that it won?t matter if you like the player or not, the tone from these modules will be killer.

Sweet!

I've got the Randall Lynchbox 50W combo, and I've got a Wizard Modern Classic arriving in the next month or two, and I've got a great Tube Screamer clone (Cusack Screamer). I got my KH-2 ready, and my ESP MX-2 (Explorer type, like Het). Once I get those Hammett modules, I'm going to have some fun.

I'll say though that the guitar Het is using on that album is a Ken Lawrence explorer with a CHECHEN top. I noticed that Het is recording the new album with that guitar as well. I think he knows he got his best tone ever with that guitar. Chechen is a wood used in basses but hardly ever used in guitars - gives a guitar a very tight crisp low end without eliminating the low end (like maple can do).

Hell yeah I love my 1086 so I will be sure to check out the newer ones......any word when they will be available?

They will be out for everyone to check out at the NAMM show in January. I think they should be shipping soon after that.
