Was just wondering if there are new modules looming on the horizon. Would love to have something like a Dumble/Trainwreck thing. What would you guys want? Any word on new modules? Guess I am just excited and waiting for mine to show up.

I always assumed the COD from Egnater was intended to cop that sort of tone...I may be wrong tho'

I would love a dimebag module , nice memories for a great guitarplayer , and he played randall , so it might be possible no ?

Right, the COD I understand is, but isn't it a dual channel and wouldn't I have to get my amp modded for it to use both channels? I am asking because I really have no idea, just things I have read here.

You can still use Ch A..which probably has all the gain of a Dumble or clone..or get it modded to Ch B, which has more gain....or order a custom, single channel COD from Egnater :D

There's a COD on eBay right now (not mine tho)

I will keep on the lookout for a used one. Those guys are pricey new!!! At least they are for a retired Air Force salary :(

Where can one get a new single channel COD?

Direct from the source....call or email the amp lounge:

How about an Orange sound with a bit more bite in the gain? I would love to get that snappy class A sound, but with enough gain to not need a pedal to get above a "classic rock distortion" sound.

Orange would be awesome! I was saving for a Rocker 30 when I switched gears and went the MTS route...

I saw the topic posted but then it vanished about the Ty Tabor modules coming... I wonder if it was true...

I still stand behind my request for a Soldano SLO 100, Diezel VH4 (ch 4), Bogner Uberschall and Hiwatt or Silver tone clean module

Egnater MOD50 has a Class A 'low power' mode .. one of it's two killer features...the other being dual channels.

Egnater EG5 will get you into SLO territory...and some have said Mr Scary is close too.

Regarding a trainwreck module - one that reacts like the real deal or a well built clone ain't going to happen. The TW sound is from beating the hell out of the power section, and modules are only preamp.

Randall MTS stuff is a lot better at 'modern' high gain than anything, because most modern high gain amps derive most of their tone from the preamp.

Regarding the EG5 - great sounding module, I got one a few weeks ago. I prefer my XTC because it's thicker, but the EG5 has a really nice tone and heaping gobs of gain. It does remind me quite a bit of my SLO clone. :)

I think they should think off the wall for some new modules. Something like putting onboard effects you can switch on. Maybe something like onboard reverb, choruse, delay, or just an effects module... something with 6-7 effects on a module that you can plug into then use a cable to switch over to your module... I dont know haha Maybe a blackface clean that has headroom for days but switches for classic pedals. Like blackface with a Rat, TS9, SD-1, or something like that.. What do you guys think about that?

I have wrapped my mind around this Module idea and I could certainly get into something even more funky from the minds of Randall's engineers and designers now!

Pete, what do you think about your Mesa Express 5:25?

Got rid of it awhile back. I liked it, but I prefer Randall stuff.

Here's what I have currently in the amp corral:

Randall -
RG80ES head
RM100
RM50
RM20B
RM4+RT 2/50

Soldano SLO clone (building it)
Trainwreck EL84 Clone
Trainwreck Express Clone (building it)
Self Modded Fender Champ (has an SLO preamp I put in)
18 watt Weber kit head I built - 2 channel, one is VH I, other is Voxy
Peavey VTM60 (currently modding it)
About 1/2 dozen amps in various stages of build...

I wonder how close you could get with YellowJackets and the COD module though :D
