clean = don't care but a gained down SuperV would do it
ch 2 = Grail
ch 3 = KH3
ch 4 = UltraXL

easy ;)

I usually have my Egnater M4 setup for 4 channels of 'holy hell that's a **** load of heavy' Grail, UXL, EG5 and KH3 :D

Hey before it gets lost in the world of Bulletin...
Concerning new ideas or what migght be coming in the future of the MTS line, what do you guys think of an onboard effects unit? I guess thats getting into like Cybertwin territory but not really. I mean, itd be like a pedal but on a module. Is that possible? Pete? haha do you think that could be done? I sort of think that would be cool as heck... I might be alone on this haha

Hey hows about this...
instead of a new preamp module, hows about a power amp that fits in the space of a single module and gives Us a mightey 6 watts RMS ????
Enough for recording or a miced up practice.
If it cant fit there..how about Randall mkkes a 25 watt version* of the Rt2/50...with either El34 or 6L6s , but not both. ? We really need this.

I think it would be a smash hit!!! I am so tired of draging my Rt2/50...and it has no low power option. Its got to be **** loud to sound proper.

* with a low power switch,ok?

GTR George,

It is easy to install a half power swich in the back of the amp. 50W would be 25 and 100 would be 50W with the swich engaged. Now, with a 3PDT swich it is possible to 100 to 50 to 25. The only problem would be the ohm selector, but I'm sure it is possible. Gotta think about it.

To install a good FX onto the MTS preamp modules would be hard, I think. You would need to add about 20 components for that PLUS a tube for the buffer.. Well you could make one out of solid state components but Hey, this is a tube amp, thats why we love it, right?

How about a gained up "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska" module?

Now that made me smile. Screw that amp sim crap, let's start getting some modules that nail specific songs. The Randall MTS Custom Shop series.

I want a Queen "Ogre Battle" module!

Buy a set of 6V6s and THD YJ EL84 tube adapters, put em in your RT 2/50. Then you get a power amp that's around 18 watts or so a side, and you can swap between the two power tubes at will. Still heavy as hell, but at least you know there is some good iron in there. :)

Pete

Great ideas...
but I admit to being lazy, and therefore would prefer a switch....I would love it if the amp were sold that way.
You know how it is, different rooms require different power amp "wattage" to get the saturation and responce I need.
I wish both of you were closer..I would ask for an estimate to do that job.

Hmm Line6 could sue with the Criminal for the 5150 model..

I had heard from my dealer and a few other sources that there MAY be a Midi preamp/ fx one rackspace .

with like different voices , Blackface, clean, plexi, XTC, Ultra XL. all programmable with the basic Chorus, Flange, delay, verbs

They should make it the "Smooth Criminal" ;)

That pre-amp would rock so long as there was a bass coupling switch...stock caps on XTC and UltraXL are too high for high gain.

I remember hearing somewhere that Randall was making a Ty Tabor sig module. Anyone else have info on that?

Questions like that might get the thread deleted

(edit: I'm not warning or implying anything, just observed this happen before)

You've seen threads get deleted because of questions about possible signature modules, or are you reading more into my question than what there is?

I probably shouldn't say much more just because I don't know which parts of those threads were objectionable, but just sayin'...

I tried to make it clear with the edit that I wasn't directing this at you in any way. Probably should just shut my mouth

Jeff (at Egnater) is supposed to be working on Ty Tabor's rig. So, maybe something will come of that. Check out the Egnater forum at rig-talk.com

I know that if your not careful you'll blow up alot of stuff, but man, it would be sweet to put a Bass Module in my M4 in my studio. When I'm done laying down guitar tracks it would be sweet to plug into the M4 and record bass too. I know they probably won't do it cause alot of people would screw stuff up.
