I am looking for an inexpensive way to get the microphone into the computer without spending $100 or more

Is there anything more I would need.
everyone mentions 'phantom power' and i think this has that.

what sort of mic are you talking about? If it's a dynamic mic (SM57, i5, E906, etc) then you should be fine. The packaging expressly states it is for a dynamic mic.

Condenser mics need power. If your mic is a condenser, doesn't have batteries and requires phantom power, this probably won't work.

I have the run of the mill std size microphones that we used for vocals and amp mic'ing when I was gigging.
I had 9 of them but sold off all but one or two.
I forget the brand, but they're decent
I bought them as sets on closeout from musicians friend about 12 years ago.

I think they were Audio Tech's, but I'll check

Audio Technica MB-2000L from the 90's, Midnight Blues were dynamic back then

Audio Technica's stylish new Midnight Blues range of microphones represent the company's latest foray into the budget dynamic mic market. PAUL WHITE gets the Blues... but is cheered up by the mics!
