Would this cab be a good match for the Rm100?

Randall R212cx?

I was looking for a cheap 2x12 so I could downsize my rig. I'm currently using a Behringer 4x12 with booger(a) speakers.

Would the 2x12 be good for Metal type tones with a sparkling cleans? It houses two Celestion seventy 80's.

What's your opinion?

+1 on Avatar Contemporary 212s

How many watts do you need?

* For vintage sound: Greenbacks 50W with early cone breakup
* For vintage sound but more power handling G12H30s for 60W cab
* For a nice blend and a 60W cabinet: 1- G12H30 and 1- Vintage 30
* Or for a 120W cab 2- Vintage 30s should do the trick.

I've got two of these each with 1- Greenback and 1- Vintage 30 to make a X pattern when they're stacked. Seems to sound fine with my 5150, but I do have to be careful of overloading the cabs since they're total rating is 100W and the 5150 is 120W. The Lynch Box is on order.

I need over 100watts. I'm not buying Avatar also as I'm Australian and they cost $900. The Randall cabs nearly half that price.

How bad are celestions there?

Maybe buy the Randall and sell the 70/80s and buy a V30 and G12T75.

That's a fair suggestion, but I don't like the v30 too much. Sounds fizzy and harsh to me.

Well I'd say try a mix of G12K100 and G12T100s.
I had a long discussion with a guy about these, and that sounds like a great combo from the clips I heard, and in a 2x12 that'd give ya 200 watts which is plenty of headroom.
