I'm surprised this one made it through it one piece, but so far so good. I wish I had the matching cab, but they want an arm and a leg for it. I had to share....

Wow, that box got chowed! Glad to hear it made it through alive, though. How are you liking it compared to your RM22? I have an RM22 also (which I really like!) and have been eyeing a 50 or 100 watt head since there seem to be so many good deals around right now...

When I ordered my RM100KH the box arrived in similar condition. The white packing foam sheets were pulverized. I honestly didn't even expect it to work but it's rocking like a champ.

Thank goodness for over-packing.

As for your head I love it. The Scott Ian head and cabs are definitely my favorite style-wise - but I'd probably be attacked if I brought out a cab with a pentagram on it down here in the bible belt.

That's nothing. I've seen worse. There is one thing about shipping stuff. Packages get sorted and dropped about 12' in the central shipping place. It's actually amazing any of this stuff works at all considering p=mv.

Which is why when I shipped my lightly used 6505+ to someone on this forum via Fed Ex, they packed the hell out of it at the store so that it could survive a drop like that. The woman who packed it? Her husband played guitar and she'd seen amp boxes arrive like that or worse.

Another problem is that the people handling them are not used to seeing a box this small weighing this much, and consequently they get dropped. They need a warning: "HEAVY AS F***"

Never put "Fragile Electronic" on a box.

This is the absolute truth. Had an acquaintance that worked for the brown company. He had a special hatred for Apple & Dell boxes. I believe they now only ship in unmarked boxes.

That looks likes a cool setup. How does it compare to your RM22? I have a RM20 and keep looking at the RM100SI & RM100KH. Any clips available?

Glad it made it to you and is working lol - man they beat that one up unfortunately.

I've almost always sent amps or guitars via UPS, take it to a store have them pack it up nice and safe and never have had one take damage like this in my 10 years of selling and shipping...knock on wood.

The mods I send via USPS priority mail flat rate box and pack them well and never have had an issue stateside.

I actually haven't played a note though it yet, I just took it out of the box at my office. Hopefully I can crank it up this weekend. I should be able to make some clips soon.

I've decided to sell my RM22, I just can't justify so many amps....ok ok ok...I want an RM1250...I admit it. GAS is a bitch....

Take the grill out and paint it white and BAM, I bet it would look cool(er)

You read my mind....that's exactly what I'm going to do, get a 412 and paint it to match...

Why the heck do you accept a package like that?

I didn't...the receiving geniuses at my office did....it was double boxed. It actually came through ok....

I usually show up at home and it's sitting on my side step looking just like these pics that were posted, sometimes worse. I've only had one issue where I had to do a bit of surgery on a preamp tube socket.

Hate to say it, but that's almost typical of my experiences with UPS....a long time ago I was receiving a Digitech Whammy and I thought the UPS lady was passing me the box so I reached out for it....and she dropped it from about 3 feet onto the floor of the truck. I was just a kid at the time and was too shocked to say anything to her...pedal worked fine but I'm never surprised when I see UPS boxes looking like this... Anyway, glad your amp's working, and I hope it never dies!

when these came out I thought they were kinda hokey looking. Like they were marketed to 14 year old boys (who couldn't afford them anyway) drawing pentagrams on their exercise books in class.

But that's actually pretty cool. I'd gig with it. Not sure that my born again drummer would like it though.... :D

That is a killer looking rig! I have tried all of the Ian's now...Very versatile setup with all three of those loaded. Wonder if the power section is any different than my standard RM100's?

I thought the same thing when I first heard about it, but it kind of grew on me. I'm going to work on painting a cab to match.

Looks killer, inspire of the repeated drops and days of the box....give thanks to the lords of double-boxing!

I really liked the sound of the Scott Ian modules...unfortunately not enough money to buy any ;-)
