My vote for Robs Erect was on the first page. The JF erect was my 3rd modded module to get done and have never even once thought about selling it one time. A work of art

Yeah, I missed that through all of the other posts! Totally agree!

Sorry guys,

As a Mesa Roadster, Mesa Recto Recording Preamp, Mesa 2:100 Poweramp Owner, and a Dave Friedman Recto, JF Erect and BareMetalMods RectRefiner owner, i can say without a doubt nothing comes close except the BareMetalMods module.

The Friedman isn't really recto at all, just plain and dull and more marshall like. JF is nice, but it's thinner than most high gain modules in comparison, with alot of high mids instead of low mids like a real recto sound. It was my least favourite recto module once I had put everything side by side.

I even recorded clips comparing everything to really prove to myself

just my 2 cents... :)

Ah, but have you heard the Diablo? I've never heard a JF Erect in real life, but based on the clips I've heard, the Diablo hits in the low mids waaaay harder.

My Spidey-Sense makes me wonder if there's gonna be a new modder from down under...

And now the obligatory - clips or it's a J-Station thru a wind-up boom box!

Ive owned all of them to date I think and my favortie is the SG Diablo so far, though I havent had the chance to really get in deep with it yet, having some amp issues.....I guess it just depends on what you are after, but I like the thick and articulate, but still havviness of the recto and teh only two modded recto modules Ive heard that do this well are the SG Diablo and the GM Recto.....The Salvation Mamba is cool as well, but it is a more processed sounding tone, doesnt have that raw agession to it,more refined....they all sounded good in their own respects, but to me didnt captire the essential definin gelements I mentioned above about Rectos....The Deadplate had a more modded recto tone, veery cutting, not as thick, the Voodoo recto sounded great too,but again, amore modded recto tone and the lowend wasnt as beefy..Ive owne the stock and a modded grail and thought they were horrible......since you cvant get a SG Diablo right now I would get a GM.....prices are good on them now too....
