    FS: Salvation Modded Ubersonic

Did this thing ever get sold? I might be interested.

WTB/WTT for an Egnater SL++ Single Channel

What do you have in trade for it?

If you could only have one module, which one would it be?

DF modded Plexi. Roll down the volume knob for semi-clean, use an overdrive for solos.

    Ultra Lead

I did find this module to be a bit cloudy myself. Of the four modules I currently have in my RM-4, the Ultra Lead is the only one with the bright switch on, which seems to help. On the other hand, since I plan to use the Ultra Lead only for solos, the lack of point gives the single notes a...

    Ultra Lead

Thanks guys for the responses. I picked up a used Ultra Lead and plugged it in last night. I a/b'd against the XTC and found the Ultra Lead more to my liking for solos. It has a better defined pick attack, definitely more mids, and a more liquid tone. So far, my favorite for leads. Does...

    Super V vs. Egnater VX

Thanks for the comments guys. I guess, what you said was pretty much what I expected. I'm making due with the Super V for now - got it sounding pretty good today with a light comp setting from my G-system in front slighty softening it - not quite an AC30, but it should work in the mix.

    Best module for leads...

Hey Stealth - It's been a little while since I heard a Legacy, but I think the XTC sounds pretty close - closer than any of the other modules I've heard anyway. The amount of gain, I think is pretty similar and the basic tonality anyway. But again, it's been a while.

    Super V vs. Egnater VX

I currently own a Super V and was wondering if anybody has had the chance to do a side by side with the Egnater VX. I think the Super V sounds great, (albeit can get a bit harsh on some settings), but the clips I've heard of the VX and the posts that I've read on other forums lead me to believe...

    Ultra Lead

Anybody know the lineage? I know that currently there is an Ultra and Ultra XL, but what was the Ultra Lead? I'm guessing that the Ultra XL replaced it, but is it pretty much the same module? I'm pondering another lead tone (I currently use the XTC for that), and was wondering about the Ultra...

A/B test - modules vs. the real thing

Well, one thing I didn't mention was that I actually had an E'rect module there as well - actually, it is a Randall Modern converted to E'rect specs by Eganter. To my ears, the Grail was much closer to the real Dual Rec than the E'rect. Not to say that the E'rect sounded bad - it sounded good...

A/B test - modules vs. the real thing

I spent a couple of hours this weekend, testing a stock Grail and DF modified Plexi modules against the real things. I have a freind who has both a early Dual Rectifier (with matching recto 4x12) and DF modified Marshall head 2203 (through a vintage 1960 with 75watt Celestions. ) I was...

RM4 Poweramp recommendations - need advice

Hey Ratkent and Riffman - Thanks for your posts - your posts in my original 2/50/2 vs. RT2/50 thread helped me to choose the 2/50/2 as my poweramp. It was the right choice for me - great Marshally tone. I know you use the Randall cab Riffman, but what do you use for a cab Ratkent? I'm...

RM4 Poweramp recommendations - need advice

I, like many of you use the 2/50/2. Can't say enough good things about it. Previoulsy used a H&K SS poweramp single rack space, which was weak sounding to say the least - really lacking bottom. The 2/50/2 makes any module in the RM/4 really sound like a real amp. One writer posted that the...

Which modules would cover the bases

For me, if we're talking stock modules, I'd go with: Marshall plexi - Brahma (the plexi stock is too tubby to my ears) Vox - Super V (top boost is too dirty stock, though most people seem to like it after it's modded) a decent clean - Blackface (best clean module I've heard - haven't heard the...

Rt2/50 or VHT 2-50-2 with my RM-4 - which one would you buy?

Thanks for the advice. Eventually, I will purchase a stereo 4x12, but first things first, I need to get the power amp. Several guys have told me that the 2-50-2 is so loud, I shouldn't hear much of a difference between one side of that and the JCM800 I'm currently using with my mono 4x12...

Modern modded to be an Erect

Thanks for the reply on that. Good to know. I really like the Erect based on the Modern module.

Rt2/50 or VHT 2-50-2 with my RM-4 - which one would you buy?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Very appreicated. I'm definitely a Marshall guy as well, and so EL34s would be my first choice for powertubes in any case. My only concern at this point regarding the VHT or even the Randall for that matter, is if 50 watts is enough. I will only use one...

Modern modded to be an Erect

I have what used to be a Modern module, converted to an Erect - I was tol, by Bruce Egnater. (says erect on the circuit board, as well as on a little black label on the front of the module). Does anybody know if Egnater still does mods on Randall modules?

Anybody know the difference between an Egnater SL++ and SL2?

Thanks Mailman - that does help. I suspected that was the case. I love the SL++ module - very punchy sounding.

Anybody know the difference between an Egnater SL++ and SL2?

I'm reffering to the old single channel SL++ module. Please let me know.
