59RR Custom Vs. Mashall+

I am the happy ownder of a JF 59rr Custom and find that it does about any marshall tone i can think of im probably getting a mashall+ in a trade.. Are these 2 mods very similar or very different .. I know that the 59rr doesnt have a JVM or a jose setting on it. Anybody out there have both or have had both in the past?

Ive had the Mash All+ and the RR1959 Platinum. Shoot me down if you want- but the Plat was way better than the Mash All to my ears and no- they are not similar- I couldnt dial out the boominess out of the Mash All+ and the only useable tones I found were in the JVM mode. Of all the Salvos I've had, the Mash All+ was the biggest disappointment. I could use it in my RM20 but not in my RM100- Its almost as if the one I had was tuned for an RM20. Just my opinion- Many people here love Mash All- I dont think it sounds (or feels) like any of the Marshalls I've owned (stiff, sterile and boomy), whereas the Plat doesnt nail any one Marshall but has the flavor of many with lots of options. The 3rd gain stage is awesome too- This is not a slam of Salvation and I am not a JF sales guy by any means....Just giving my observations. Since I am a Marshall guy all the way- That's really all I've been chasing with the MTS mods- Some of my favorite Marshall mods were (in no particular order)

Hilligan Snorkeler (Killer, thick AIC type tones)
Voodoo Jose HG (Faithful Hot Rodded Marshall replication)
Voodoo Jose UG (The best mod for leads in my opinion! Super high gain)
JF RR1959 Platinum (Tour de Marshall, I played in JCM mode most)
Judge/GTO STOCK!! (Still think this is one of the best, killer feel)
Masholdano (Salvos best! A masterpiece)
SG MK22- (NAILS classic Marshall tones but can also do the high gain stuff)

Also have used the newer SL+ (black faceplate) and Mr Scary in stock form for some really good Marshall tones.

Im itching to try the Grailtone and Quickmod too....

They are REALLY different sounding mods.
You'll just have to pick which one suits you better.

It would be great to really hear the difference but most of us only have one or the other. The 2 Marshall mods I have couldn't be more different. The SL is much more compressed and the mids are lower than the 59 plat. If you like more cut in your tone the plat. Is the way to go. I know this is about the Mashall, but from the clips I have heard of it, it sounds more like my SL than the 59. Not a bad thing, just different

It's very hard for me to imagine this experience with the Mash. Different strokes I guess, because I *love* the Mash-all and the JVM mode least haha.
(That is in my RM4-RT2/50 setup)

I think that's down to personal preference and things like different surrounding gear (guitar,cab,cables,tube-choice etc) that makes it work for you or not.

To me it's not stiff or sterile but open and airy. Not compressed like some other mods (especially the stocks)

Apart from them sounding completely different, The 1959 is better suited for classic rock, the Mash All+ is better suited for high gain. The Salvo sounds boomy and has a thickness that you can't dial out, so keep that in mind.

I'd say try a Masholdano from Salvation, hands down one of the best mods I've played and owned.

Mash-all+...Masholdano..59RR Plat...I want all ! :lol:

I start with the Mash-all+ as it seems to be a compromise for Classic to more "modern" High Gain tones (with the "vintage touch" on the bass side, which some people call "muddy").

I will see, but the others seems incredible too! :shock: 8)

Lots of great videos demoing those out there. Those are all great sounding mods.
