So I've got my randall RM100M about 6 weeks ago. I'm getting a touch confused with all the things necessary to make a tube amp run at its best.
A few things in particular concern me:
The power section is run by 4 6v6's, I want the amp to break up a little bit earlier (as well as save 2 power tubes). Is there a specific pairing I need to pull out? like 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 or will any 2 suffice. Wattage reduced to 50w. I plan on running this with only 2 power tubes 90% of the time. (any long term problems?)
Now, having pulled out 2 tubes and running at 50w which attenuator should I buy?

Or would it be a better idea to buy a bigger attenuator?
Lots of money spent so lots of questions. I've oredered this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087930863X/qid=1148644363/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/102-2970316-1240940?s=books&v=glance&n=283155 as a reference but I'd like to hear your thoughts as well.
Thanks for reading such a lengthy post
