So I have been reading up on these mod's that Pete does and have read nothing but good reviews. The RM100 with el34's I currently own has a blackface, plexi, and xtc in it. I've been using a mxr ten band eq to get out what i don't want out. As a whole the modules are pretty solid but I found that the only frequency that this muffled sound came from was the 500k frequency on the eq. Out of 10 faders on the pedal this was the only one I had to move the get rid of that muffle sound. I found that with me doing this, I had way more control over the mids also. I wouldn't even worry about modding these if the EQ didn't clip when I turn the level up on the module to get a little more thickness. Just want to know what module, and what mod you had done by pete, and how did it improve your tone? Sorry for the long paragraph. It's just trusting someone with your tone that you don't know is like trusting someone you don't know with your hot girlfriend.

Pete modded all of the modules in my RM4; Top Boost, Plexi, Brown and XTC. I think the main difference I noticed on each was an increased clarity and openess. I was about 80% pleased with the tones I was getting before but Pete really exceeded my expectations after getting the modules back from him. My suggestion to you would be to send him just your Plexi module first and tell him what you want. I can almost guarantee you will send the others when you get it back, but having just one modded and the others stock will give you a good feel for what he does.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't seen one person on here say they didn't like the work he did. I think i will give it a shot.

I'm thrilled with the work he did on my Treadplate as noted here

As time has gone by I love it more...with the Orange switch being so different and flatout awesome, I'm seriously considering adding a second identical module to my live rig- it's that good

I see you have an xtc- the work he has done on that is his newest and would be worth looking into (mine is on order)

I've had my SL+ and Recto modules both worked on by Pete.

The SL+ went from good to kick a$$ with the voicing switch in either position. His work on it was awesome. Clarity and openess definitely improved. It sounded almost like there was a little more gain on tap even though the actual gain was the same. It just sounded like there was more of it.

His work on the Recto has to be heard to be fully appreciated. I definitely second what Cranky said about the Orange setting. The Red setting is pretty awesome in its own right. Both are a 100% improvement over stock.

I wanted to have my Ultra and Plexi modded by him, but alas, I ran out of time :0(

Any idea of how long it takes him to the mods? I have a friend I sold my other rm100 to and it had a recto in it. I might trade him my plexi for his recto and go on ahead and get that mod too. I'm going to have to buy some more modules though because I'm sure I'll be waiting a while. Anyone with ULTRA XL's modded? Curious how those things sound after The DUDE is finished with them

count on several weeks- Pete is meticulous and likes to burn them in after the work as well....it's not a quick turnaround, but I wouldn't want it to be in order to ensure high quality. I believe he has a full plate: fulltime non-mts job, bands, etc.

It's worth the wait...
