this is where I need your advice:
There is always something lacking...
the replifex is cheap (used), but doesn't do any intelligent harmonizing.
the G major is liked, but so many have units that are unreliable!
plus, none of the stuff I read mentioned seamless program changes.
The Boss GX700, I like, and own..but no seamless program changes, and its on its last legs.
Its been like 12 years since those units came out..haben't the companies done better since then??????
Here's my take on the GMajor:
I owned one for a few years and tried tweaking as much as I could. It has a lot of great features including the interface, but overall, it was too sterile for me--mainly modulation and reverb. Also, the data wheels are a joke. Maybe they've fixed them and got better ones now.
As for seamless program change, the GMajor gives a choice of FX muting (hard or soft). Hard, cuts everything from previous preset and Soft sort of crossfades into the new preset. However, when I tried this, it was too soft and the new preset I switched to faded in too slow.
The Replifex is great for just about anything but the pitch shifting/harmonizing FX, although, it will do it. The Intellipitch would solve your problem there while the Replifex would handle everything else. The Replifex is a really good unit. Jerry Cantrell used one with a Bogner Fish for live in the '90s.
The GSharp will let you "spill over", as long as, the next preset uses the same FX as the one you're switching from. Could be useful at times, but not the greatest setup.
Have you checked into the Digitech gsp1101? I remember Jimosity going on and on about how great it is. It's supposed to have seamless program change. There's also the TSR24--it's useless to you if it doesn't have the 2nd processor chip/card.
Hope this helps, at all.
