Effects loops on RM100... what's up?

I have a Lexicon delay/reverb unit that I'm running through the effects loop on my RM100. It's studio quality, definitely not a stomp box of any sort.
I'd like to run the controls from the unit only, so I tried going into the series loop. However, the volume of the entire amp cuts down to about 1% when I do this. Sounds terrible.
So then I go into the Parallel loop (meaning I have to also use the effects level control of the amp.. not my first choice). Now I can *sort of* get the effect I'm going for. Although I have to put almost all effects levels (on both the amp and the reverb unit) to 10 just to hear them at all.
Am I doing something wrong? What's going on with that Series loop? The unit I'm using is unbalanced. Is that the problem?

i run a lexicon mx300 through the series loop and have no problem with volume drop. My lexicon master volume is set to 10 o clock. Try this and see if it works.

The Parallel FX Loop really is the best place to put your time based FX, but even if you want to use the Series (which is OK) it sounds like you have to sit down and get your levels right in Lexicon piece first. It sees that right now your input level into the MFX might be pretty low, and even if the output level feeding back into the SFXL is really cranked, you aren?t going to get much volume. Now when you plug into the PFXL you can still here your amp at it?s regular volume but the output from the MFX is still really low so you still have to crank the FX knob on the RM100. Which Lexicon unit are you using? Let me know and I can try to help you get the levels set. You may also still need to get an EBTech line shifter, although a lot of higher end MFX units have a switch so you can select between -10/+4.

The unit I'm using is the LXP-1. I tried with both the Input and output maxed. Of course maxing the input distorts. Very odd, when I go into the S-loop I don't hear the original guitar signal, just the echo, which is loud and clear. The only other control on the unit is the mix control, which I believe i kept at about 50%
I tried going into the loop with my Boss ME50 just to see, and it sounded fine. On top of working, it seemed to sound better which is strange since it's just a floor unit and the LXP1 is a studio quality unit. I'm sure I have something set wrong, but I've tried everything I can think of.

Double check that Mix value. The way you describe what you hear when in the serial f/x loop sounds like your LXP-1 mix is set to 100% wet.

100% wet is what you want when you run it in the parallel loop. If not, the delay caused by the digital conversions and processing can cause serious phasing problems between the analog dry versus the LXP-1 dry.
