Just picked up a ESP Kamikaze IV Custom Shop guitar from the Calgary Rock Shop. New shop in Cow Town.

It's fit and finish is as good as anything I've ever seen...

Goes real well with the Randall Lynch Box.

The graphic is all paint not like the later Kamis that apparently used a decal.

That looks awesome! Great pics!

I have an ESP Serpent with push/pull knob. I'm guessing your Kami does too? How do you like it? Have you had a chance to put it to work yet? To me, it doesn't seem very functional unless one pickup gets used for an enitre song or whatever. It's loud switching, too.

The Serpent is my favorite guitar tho.

Congrats on the excellent purchase!!!!

Thanks bro... the Serpant is my other choice but the Kami IV came first.

The push pull is very functional I find. I brought the guitar to rehersal last night and used it as I would use any other pu selecter. Pulling it up takes a littel more concentration but pushing down is very simple. Mine is whisper quiet... I cannot hear a click even... much more quiet that a blade selector like on a strat I find anyways.

The neck profile is wider than most gtrs I own but I was very surprised how quickly I adapted and I could really see the advantages. I have a Washburn N4 and it's wide to ( not as wide tho ) and it has been a fav neck of mine for a while. I also love the star neck joint... it's a breeze to play in the upper registers.

The Screamin Demon seems made for this guitar. I was expecting a very brite tonality not too far removed from the N4 and the L 500 in the bridge. What I discovered was a balanced tone with very nice bell/piano like qualities.

The neck pup was surprising aswell with a nice round tone.

My 2nd choice is a Kami III. I really, really want one really, really bad.

I'm a huge fan of the Screamin' Demon. I've had one in my strat for years and it makes that guitar so versatile. In the Serpent, it's round and crunchy smooth. I love how good it cleans up too.
I have a sh-100 (I believe) in the neck position. It's like a "cool rails" type pup. I dig it a lot.

I have that same guitar, ordered it back in '92 from the custom shop.

One thing to note; the Serpent is way different than all the other Lynch models.
It's got a Floyd Rose II trem and it does NOT have the arm contour...
