I always turn down the mid I think the distortion sounds so much better when the mid is out

The cool thing about the 1086 module is the Mid Shift switch. Flick it off......and play the opening to Metallica BREADFAN hands down!! Its a Awesome mod!!! I am sure you will love it. It gets heavy and beefy with no pedals in front. Rock on Bro and good luck finding your tone. Its a never ending search. Been looking for it for 25 years and this AMP brings me REAL CLOSE!! 8)

I love my 1086, its great for rhythm and leads it has some serious BALLS to it as wel as clarity! I traded my recto mod for it and never looked back.

It's weird how tone is subjective tho..I hated my 1086 and couldn't get rid of it fast enough...bought it new too..so cost me $30 after offloading it

It didn't seem to do either of the things it was billed to do that well i.e. plexi type crunch and modern mesa type distortion.

My tastes have changed since I tried it..as well as my playing and module tweaking ability...so I might pick one up again at some point.

yeah,it was the exact same for me too.bought the 1086,two different times,in a one year period.never seemed to "do it" for me,at all...yet,i kept reading threads,on here,how guy's were "blown away" by its tone and loved the module...wild,how our tastes differ!!! :shock:

+1. I owned it twice and sold it twice. I liked it better the first time I had it, but after having more experience with other modules, by the time I had another 1086 I liked it even less.

Yeah I am thinking of selling off my 1086 since I just picked up that EG5 and that is now the NEW METAL module! Sorry 1086.....we had our fun!
