KT88's

Whos running KT88's in their Lynch Box? I want to know what kind of tone your geting...EL34's arent doing it for me and I already have a Triple Rec with 6L6s. Thanks!

I am currently running a quad of Penta KT88's in my modded RM100. Typically run KT88's outside and EL34L's inside, but switching things up for the moment. Like it alot, tons of clean headroom and the tone sings quite well. Also running some JAN 5751's in V1 and the PI and liking them a lot too.

How are ya'll liking the KT88's? I'm waiting for my RT2/50 to be shipped, and I'm thinking of putting KT88's for one channel, and 6L6's in the other.

I have heard that the KT88's are wicked for high gain. Expensive as hell but wicked.

Thats what I've heard, too. I'm thinking KT88's for high gain tones, and the 6L6's for the clean up to mid gain tones.

I found the KT-88's VERY BOOMY to play.
They were very powerful but when I CRANKED it to gig level...
it over powered the bass player!
I went to a pair of 6L6's and EL34's and its about perfect!
But to each their own......... 8)

I have 6L6 at the outside and E34Ls in my RM100 now.
I think about giving the KT88s a try.
Does anybody mix them with 6L6s or is this to bassy ?
