I'm ready to finally a an acoustic guitar to the collection and want you opinion on what I should get. The criteria is this, I dont want to spend more then $200-$250 as Im just getting it for the home yet I want the best for that. I probably would buy used off of ebay or new if theres a deal out there. I'd like specific model numbers and not just "Ovation makes a nice guitar".
I also would like it relatively thin, Ive tryed those Stratocoustics and its to bad they dont have the fullness of sound cause they are cool.

Try the Ovation Applause line. They record well and sound very balanced.
I string mine with light gauge electric strings and do most of my exersize and practice with it.

I have 3 Ovations and an Adamas and I love them. I bought my ex GF an Ovation Applause off Craigslisp for about $150.00 and it played great. It was one of those shallow bowl ones and I really liked it.

Looks like you can get an Ovation Applause on ebay for well under $200 so so far its perfect haha.

I've been eyeballing a guitar since 2005. I played one in Atlanta...loved it!
The price was right, too...but I didn't have the money at the time and I don't need ANOTHER guitar! But as we all know....GAS

Anyway, it was selling on Musicians Fiend for about $649, but I just looked: DISCONTINUED (still available through other dealers, just not at "The Feind" or Music123)

Here is one place I found that still sells it...along with the link to the main site.

If you can find one used, this would be a solid investment. One of the finest guitars I've played for under $1000.

My 2?

And I guess like with my other equipment, If I buy a cheap guitar Im apt to not play it and If I just get a nice one I'll be inclined to play it more and you probably never need to buy another one for life.
