Line level is around +23 dbu. You still will end up clipping.
Check out the TC Nova System. It's only a couple hundred more. It does require some tinkering. I have a Voice Live I use for vocal harmonies. when I first got it I was like -- wtf do I do with this thing. You've got to sit down and play with it. Read the manual. Join their forums. Make sure you have the latest firmware for it. The Nova System does line level and is about $499.
