No love for the Modern Module?

I just purchased a Lynch Box from a member here. He had 2 modules for it the Blackface and the Modern Module.

I noticed that not too many people talk about Moderns here. Can anybody fill me in on these. What I may expect and if anybody here uses them a lot and likes them.

I scored a modern module about 4 months ago off of ebay and I honestly love it. I had do the C3 mod to a 0.001 uF but thats it. Im sure I'm way off here, but to me at least it sounds like a more cleaned up version of the rectified module. Its got that really saturated tone with lots of gain and plenty of high end. I use it and the Ultra for my overdrives, although they sound worlds different from each other. My ultra takes my rhythms and the modern takes boosts and leads. Hope that helps!

Is your Modern module noticably softer than the rest of your other modules? Cos mine is, and it sucks cos I really like the tone it puts out. Exactly as you described it.

The Modern is noticeably lower in volume.

And there is no mod or cap change that will fix it? Cos it seems like such a minor problem that, if fixed, will put the Modern back in my good books.[/quote]

I have my other modules at around 11 to 12 on the level....my Modern up at 2 to 3 o'clock....only fix there.

It's quieter than other modules at the same output level yes.

Wow! I really like this Modern Module. It took a little bit of tweaking on it but MAN it sounds great! What was this one modeled after? It kind a reminds me of a fat Soldano.

Supposedly it's a Supercharged Vox/Top Boost.
